Fresh, floral aroma. Crackery malts, somewhat doughy. Sweet smelling. A touch fruity, pear-like. Grassy hops.

Pours light gold with white head. Ok retention and lacing.

Fresh bitter hops upfront followed quickly by sweet doughy malts. Crisp, clean, elegant. Pears and grass. Snappy bitterness. A tinge of minerality.

Light body with medium light carbonation. A hint of creaminess. Finish is dry and minerally.

Great. Light, refreshing with a certain subtle complexity.

330 ml bottle poured into a pint

A- Clear golden straw color with a two finger white head.

S- Bread, spicey/earthy hops, hint of light fruits, just enough sweetness fron the malts.

T- Bready, touch on the sweet side, fruity, mainly light fruits, hint of peaches and grapes, just enough floral and earthy hops to balance the beer.

M- Smooth, crisp, light.

O- When I first opened it, it smelled like a crappy mass prodoced lager, but as it warned a little and the head went down the smell really changed to something special. Very easy to drink, great summer beer!

From a single into a willibecher, this pours a clear pale yellow, lots of bubbles, with a very good thick white head, good retention, good lacing...looks enticing! Very clean nose, with pale malts and very light toasty grains, the promise of a little mineral earthiness, and some sweet perfumey apple orchard-like notes (both the fruit and the woody smell). The taste and mouthful are quite nice: creamy graininess, some more wood and delicate floral fruitiness, moderate and soft body, fairly high carbonation, crisp finish. Pretty faint with respect to the hops, especially the more spicy notes...more earthy and delicately fruity. What a fabulous summer brew: always intrigued by this style. A decent number of American breweries are putting out a version these days...it is good to be reminded of a hallmark of the style.

I love this beer. When it's 90 f and humid outside, this is what I order at my snooty watering hole. Completely refreshing. More satisfying in flavor than most kolsch beers. The smell doesn't really exist, but taste-wise, it's like a good beer. I think I may have another.

L: yellow/gold color, thin lacing white head, lots of bubbles
S: bready, with a slight maltiness
T: clean, earthy, a little spiciness
F: light body, the high carbonation tickles the tongue
O: maybe my favorite Kolsch to date

This kolsch pours a medium golden color with a thin, frothy, white head. The smell is quite nice with yeast and grain notes that are prominent. The flavor is like the smell would have you believe with the aforementioned flavors as well as an earthiness coming to the forefront. The aftertaste leaves a grainy flavor in your mouth that is accompanied by an assertive, but not overwhelming hoppiness that is somewhat high for the style. The finish is quite dry and the body is medium to light, which is still a little higher than most examples of this style. In my opinion this style is not the most exciting or inventive one, but this beer is a little bit atypical. To me that makes it somewhat intriguing. Like all good kolschs it does have a nice refreshing taste though and is great in the summer. It’s not the best example of the style that I’ve had, though I have not had many that are better and it is certainly worth a try.
