Notes:
If Jutsu is the talented sidekick, Double Jutsu is the dazzling superhero. We devised a plan to take our fan favourite pale ale, and bump up the alcohol and dry hop. What has emerged is a refreshing, balanced, and juicy IPA that provides an even more intense hop experience.

Orange gold body, thick and unfiltered, like fresh orange juice. Forms an off white head with a minute or so retention.
Big juicy tropical, citrus, fleshy fruit - apricot, mango, orange, grapefruit, passionfruit, pineapple. Outstanding.
The flavour follows suit with a focus on the tropical fruit, adding moderated resin bitterness and a mouthcoating soft unctuousness - like the feel of an altufa mango. Pineapple, passion fruit, mango, and orange shine here, as well as some pine in the finish. No pithiness at all. Remarkably clean. Alcohol is imperceptible, this goes down like juice. Medium carbonation, full body.
Jutsu is just delicious. Fantastic fresh fruit flavour, luscious feel, easy drinking. A great choice for summer patios, tacos, and burgers.

One of Bellwoods' better IPAs and, judging by the reviews, it's also one of Ontario's best.
If only some of these folks would try Badlands Brewing's IPAs: I think their jaws would drop.
Having said that, this is still a very good beer. From the sumptuous nose, to the piney/citrus mix, you are holding a great IPA in your hand, if you are lucky enough to get it (at source). If you haven't tried it yet, you should.

Pours cloudy peach with a frothy, compact head. Big peach, mango, papaya notes in the nose. A wall of tropical, citrusy hops in the first sip. Super hoppy with a light pale malt ballast. Peach, apricot, melon hops in there. Some white pepper and herbal hop notes. Full bodied mouthfeel with creamy carbonation and lots of mouthcoating alpha acids. The finish is high in bitterness and fruityness. Long lasting tropical and citrus notes.
A fantastic IPA. Redolent with hop flavor. Juicy and complex and quite aggressive. One of my favorites ever.

Bottle: Poured an orangey color ale with a nice large foamy head with good carbonation and some lacing. Aroma of fresh grassy hops with some citrusy notes is quite wonderful. Taste is also a great mix of fresh grassy hops notes with some citrusy notes and some light residuals sugar notes and limited amount of bitterness can be perceived. Body is full for style with good carbonation. Solid IPA though I could have done with a lower ABV.

Bottle from the brewery. Served in a Bellwoods snifter.
A - White foam settles to a solid cap, leaving a few specks of lacing behind. Lightly hazed bronze body.
S - Galaxy hops dominate here, in a way that they don't with regular Jutsu which seems to have more of a Citra character in the mix. Tropical fruits and leafy herbs, with a touch of alcohol present in this amped up variant. Some malt sweetness in the periphery, but pretty well attenuated. Feels more IPA than IIPA or DIPA.
T - Similar to my comments on regular Jutsu, the flavor has more bready malt and herbal bitterness to it, with less of the juicy hop character. A kiss of sweet malt mid-palate before yielding to some punch bitterness. Alcohol is better concealed here.
M - Medium body, dry finish, with lingering hop oils and resins on the palate. A hint of alcohol warmth, but nothing untoward. Carbonation seems more a touch more lively than regular Jutsu, but it isn't harsh or excessive.
D - I like it, but I kind of prefer the crushability and even more restrained malt character of regular Jutsu. Nice as a change of pace, but in this case less is more. Still, a really nice hoppy brew from Toronto's best brewpub.

A - probably the weakest element of this beer. Doesn't have the amazing cloudy/hazy look that Jutsu has, but rather a translucent golden orange colour with a thin layer of white head.
S - Fruity aromas of mango, peach and pineapple. Juicy and fresh.
T - Fruity notes of mango, peach, grapefruit with a noticeable caramel/honey sweetness. The yeast is also apparent and accentuates the bright and juicy fruity flavour profile.
M - Light to medium body with nice sticky hop resin present.

Pours a hazy golden orange color with 2 fingers of creamy white head falling slow-ish to a creamy collar and leaving nice lacing. The nose is a blast of citrus and tropical fruit with some nice dank pine. The taste is deep, sticky, resinous pine, overripe tropical fruit, citrus (oranges and sweet grapefruit) with a bit of sweet (but clean) malt and dries out a bit on the finish. It is smooth and round on the palate with good carbonation and drinks very easily hiding its 8% ABV. A delicious IPA!

Hazed golden orange/yellow colour, 1.5 fingers white head and some lace. Smell has a big fruity nose, honeydew mellon, tropical fruit and a mild suggestion on dank pine, very little malt impressions left and this is a fruity hops for the majority. Juicy tropical fruit and citrus, ripe mango and pineapple with the honeydew from the nose only coming through in the swallow, lightly bitter but hop flavour is huge here, a bit of tangerine in the aftertaste, finishes dry. Lightly carbonated, medium full body, lightly oily and dry throughout. Top notch hoppy offering from Bellwoods, ABV goes undetected, something I hope they keep in regular rotation.

Pretty excited to see a ramped-up version of Jutsu, which is certainly my favourite pale ale from Bellwoods these days.
The taste is brimming with different flavours- melon stands out, but some dank weedy flavours and bright citrus are there right behind. Really seems to cover the spectrum of different flavours you might expect in an IPA all at once, but without becoming a mess. A dose of bready malt is in the back, and the finish is mildly bitter with a resin flavour. A very nice package.
Body is considerably heavier than Jutsu, which is no surprising. As a result, it lacks the softness that makes Justu so nice, but it certainly isn't unpleasantly heavy.
Overall, I would give regular Jutsu the edge, as it is just amazingly drinkable, but this is very good as well.
