22oz bottle - great name for one of yer higher-test traditionally styled offerings, this one coming in at 9% ABV, as per the label.

This beer pours a slightly hazy, pale golden yellow colour, with two fingers of puffy, bubbly, and loosely foamy off-white head, which leaves some hanging iceberg shelf lace around the glass as it quickly sinks away.

It smells of sharply phenolic yeast, gritty, grainy pale malt, mild clove and white pepper spice, a touch of dried apple peel, and a sassy, emboozled warmth. The taste is more fruity off the start, the apples and pears moving into the fleshy, moderately sweet side of their nature, amongst a steady semi-sweet pale malt graininess, some still edgy clove and other muddled spices, a thankfully reduced yeast astringency, and a burgeoning, but still well-checked alcohol heat.

The bubbles are quite lively, in their edgy, and oft-times biting fizziness, the body a sturdy medium weight, and somewhat smooth, nothing other than that subtly threatening booze a cause for concern. It finishes pushing dry, the grainy, yeasty, spicy, and alcoholic elements in an elitist cabal of sorts.

A simply-rendered, less than complex version of a Tripel (at least they spelled it correctly), but in the end, drinkable, in a best of bottom shelf malt liquor scenario. Yeah, I don't feel like apologizing for this one, so I'll focus on its most obvious, um, 'attribute' - it'll getcha tight, for way too much dinero, is about it.

Poured a bottle into a chilled glass and a nice white head, small in stature, rose up slowly from the glass.
The color was a clear golden and there was a bit of lacing.
The nose was an unusual, a bit foreign, hard to place, sweetness with a bit of vanilla and perhaps caramel but definitely very pleasant.
The taste is hard to describe...it's very exotic, but definitely great, and not like anything you've tried before, it's like a Belgian with a slight sweetness and a barrel aged bourbon-ness, but there's more going on here, and there is some serious booziness - no a lot of it and it's darned good.
The mouthfeel is rich, boozy and smooth.
Oh Yeah, I like this a lot.
I'll be trying to find more of this for sure.
Overall this is really a great, very different drink that is a must to try and try again. I'd say this is one of the 10 best beers I've had...and I've had literally thousands over the last 50 years.

Pours a very clear gold in color with a thin white head of light foam. My pour was a little aggressive, so the lack of head for this style is an omen I think. Smell is very mild. There is some presence of spices and cloves, but it is very subtle. The most dominant smell I get is one of rubber or industrial materials. Most curious. The taste has some tripel foundation, but as mild as mentioned on nose. Also like mentioned earlier, there is an odd rubbery taste...just enough to make you wonder if you are pouring this from an inner tube. The feel is thinnish and light and there is fine to zero carbonation.

As I was drinking this I started to look around for someone who was goofing me....sadly the only suspects are Rough Draft Brewing. Sorry kids this is a 100% miss.

Now this stuff is in bottles, so I have to do another review. Golden color in the snifter with ample carbonation and a thin cap of foam. Scent of mango and hay and that band-aid smell.

Sweet and spicy and a canned pineapple taste. Modest Belgian character. The general impression is kind of gummy. The sweetness seems to last all the way through, but it's a fruity rather than sugary sweetness, if that makes any difference. Less of the yeasty dryness than most Belgian-inspired brews. Stewed pineapple finish and some earthy bitterness.

From the 22 oz bottle bought at Barons Marketplace in San Diego. Appealing artsy label.

A - Murky lemony wheat, maybe a little darker. Big small bubbled white head. Minimal lace.

S - Light banana, tropical fruit, clove and other seasonings.

T - Taste matches smell, not a forward as hoped and a little less carbed than hoped.

M - Medium body, fair to light carb, decent balance.

D - Pretty tasty.

On tap at Whole Foods in Pasadena, CA.

Pours a hazy yellow with a foamy white head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, yeast, spice, and grass aromas. Taste is much the same with honey, grass, and yeast flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of yeast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and dry mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that has some solid aromas, but the flavors are fairly subtle.
