my pint can tasted just a little old, but i liked this beer a lot even still. so many beers that try to use rye malt end up putting it into these hyper complex beers where its but one flavor agent, often lost to more robust flavors and intense malts. here, its pretty isolated, seemingly mixed with little more than pale two row barley and perhaps a touch of some medium crystal for color, it is allowed to do the majority of the malt flavoring under all these hops, and its really cool. peppery is the wrong word, but it adds a cool cereal spice to the base here, really pretty great flavor and compliment to the hops selected, which also have a little vegetal type spice to them along with their bitterness and piney notes. really neat balance in this ipa, and a sturdy one too, with plenty of body and abv, i could get wasted on a four pack of these for sure. robustly flavored, nice use of the rye malt, and cool complimentary hop complexion. well made beer from these guys, i have not had nearly enough of their beers...

First off... ABV is 7.0. Second..... anyone who rated this beer lower than 4.0... and I'm really serious when I say this.. You probably shouldn't be rating beers. I'm not saying you're a bad person, you just don't know what you're talking about. I will speak candidly when I say, this is without a doubt the best IPA brewed in Missouri. This is the second best single IPA I've ever had. This beer is nearly identical to Jai Alai, which I consider number 1. It has everything you could possibly want in an IPA. It's floral, it's strong but not syrupy, it's got a ton of citrus flavor. There really isn't even anything I would say I'd change about it. Great freaking job on this one Rock Bridge, I am a believer. This beer deserves a whole lot more attention than it's getting.

Amber with a slight leaning to orange in color. There's a moderate amount of murkiness. There's a half inch of off white head and plenty of Brussels lacing. The aroma is loaded with tropical hops with a tangerine note. I also get the spicy rye note. The flavor is more balanced between the tropical hops and the rye. The mouth is moderately carbonated and a touch chalky.

Bright orange, drippy lacing down the glass.
Caramel malt, sandalwood, orange peel.
Bitter pine and resiny hop, dry bitter finish.
Smooth and easy drinking. Not bad.

Nice fluffy off white 1-2 finger head. Color is orange to copper and fairly clear. Wonderful floral hop aroma. Taste floral up front with citrus and pine at the end along with nice spicy note from rye. This is an awesome IPA!

Lighter in color than I expect from a Rye IPA. Smells of pine, citrus and lightly floral. Really a delicious aroma. Pours with about an inch of head. The head disappates to a little more than half a centimeter and stays there. I definitely get the rye in the taste and it's balanced well by the hops. At 7% I consider it on the higher end of the normal IPA abv range but I don't get much booziness. Mouthfeel is excellent and very drinkable.

Overall, one of the more solid (and hoppier) IPAs that I've had out of Missouri, Rye or otherwise.
