From a 16 ounce can, this brew is a hazy orange color. Light and small white head. The aroma is hoppy, with lots of grain (rye) and a bit of fruit. The taste is firmly bitter, Underlying malt is flavorful as well. Full body and drinkable. Assertive.

my pint can tasted just a little old, but i liked this beer a lot even still. so many beers that try to use rye malt end up putting it into these hyper complex beers where its but one flavor agent, often lost to more robust flavors and intense malts. here, its pretty isolated, seemingly mixed with little more than pale two row barley and perhaps a touch of some medium crystal for color, it is allowed to do the majority of the malt flavoring under all these hops, and its really cool. peppery is the wrong word, but it adds a cool cereal spice to the base here, really pretty great flavor and compliment to the hops selected, which also have a little vegetal type spice to them along with their bitterness and piney notes. really neat balance in this ipa, and a sturdy one too, with plenty of body and abv, i could get wasted on a four pack of these for sure. robustly flavored, nice use of the rye malt, and cool complimentary hop complexion. well made beer from these guys, i have not had nearly enough of their beers...

Lighter in color than I expect from a Rye IPA. Smells of pine, citrus and lightly floral. Really a delicious aroma. Pours with about an inch of head. The head disappates to a little more than half a centimeter and stays there. I definitely get the rye in the taste and it's balanced well by the hops. At 7% I consider it on the higher end of the normal IPA abv range but I don't get much booziness. Mouthfeel is excellent and very drinkable.
Overall, one of the more solid (and hoppier) IPAs that I've had out of Missouri, Rye or otherwise.
