22 ounce bottle into a tulip snifter. Bottled 3/19/17, had 7/20/18.
Pours near black, opaque, with a one and a half inch foamy head and soapy, spotty lacing. Aromas of red wine, malt, bourbon, figs, some tobacco, chocolate, light vanilla, toffee, light Belgian yeast and wheat. The flavor is malt, chocolate, bourbon, some vanilla and wine, light figs, some cocoa and wheat, a little oak. It’s fairly sweet. Smooth, a solid full body, well carbonated.
Excellent blend, both types of barrels work well, terrific aroma, great flavor. Surprisingly sweet, but not distractingly so. Very enjoyable.

Appearance - The beer was a black color with reddish hues and a beige colored head.
Smell - Sweet booze was well presented.
Taste - The Beer blended bourbon and red wine no it’s exceptionally well. There was sweetness of red grapes and bourbon. Nothing bitter about this one. It reminded me of an Old Fashion.
Mouthfeel -The beer had low carbonation and sticky sweetness.
Overall - The beer is desert like. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The latest version of this came out about a wk ago. Once again I think they just nailed it. A tremendous blend that will stand up to most anything one could find. Great job !

This one is all over the place. A bit soupy in the body with dusty and booze filled sweet finish, this beer tastes like a mix of all kinds of things soaked in booze. Oak, chocolate, cherries, raisin, and wine? I don't even know for sure with such a sweet shellac over it all. Strong ale, but not in an artful way, but does get the job done

Tasted in a snifter from draft at Beer Bazaar on June 4, 2017. This beer is way too sweet for me. If I were you, I would ask for a small sample first. Approach with caution.

By far the sweetest beer I have ever tasted. I dont know how it is even possible to get a beer this sweet. Immediately coats the palate and let's absolutely no other flavor through. This was a tough beer for me

On tap. Served in a snifter glass. Pours a darker brown body, cola colored and almost black, one finger off-white head, short retention and without much lacing. Mild graham cracker, red vinous character, sweet grain, touch of oak, milk chocolate and dark fruit. It’s a weird beer, definitely a different one from most, good carbonation, medium body, slightly astringent finish.
