Poured from a can into a tulip glass. Slightly cloudy yellow color with a nice white head and good lacing. Lemony taste with a nice witbier spice profile. A bit of a light feel but overall a nice beer. Would get again.

Clear straw colored pour with a small white head. Aroma of yeast and pepper. Taste has flavors of yeast, coriander and pepper initially. As the beer warms some hints of spice (clove, mainly), cracker and lemon also develop. Finishes with a lingering yeast and and almost pear ester flavor.

a tasty and refreshing can of beer with awesome label art. i like the citrus in here, and i like the addition of grains of paradise, it gives this a real summery flavor. i cant help but associate grains of paradise with sam adams summer ale, so maybe thats whats happening to me here, but this has a similar floral and herbal freshness about it that really works well in a belgian wit. some orchard fruitiness to this year, green pear and green apple to me, but its not done too warm and the flavor blend in nicely. the wheat malt is super light in this, not as fluffy or round feeling as it could be, but its flavorful and dry by the finish, which i think the style really needs. bright herbal quality to it, almost cilantro as weird as that sounds, and lemon as well, zesty and clean. peppery on the finish, this has a lot of flavor for being such a crusher, even a little perfumy as they go, but i like it being on the bold end of the spectrum, and i enjoyed this quite a lot. the utah beer scene has continued to improve over the years in spite of the laws, its great to see!

Wasatch White Label Belgian-style White Ale, White Ale brewed with spices. Alc. 6% by Vol., Utah Brewers Cooperative, Salt Lake City, Utah.
Light, clear golden coloring, large head that disappears quickly.
Aroma: pleasant citrus and honey-ish notes, light spice.
Taste: Spice is felt stronger at first, with orange a bit more minor. Minor hop bitterness. Smooth, wheat-y flavor, easy going, lasting flavor. Brisk spritz of carbonation, a little lemony. a little orangey.
Not loving this one, not disliking it, either, fairly run-o-the-mill wit in this instance. It's beer and you can drink it.

I bought this single on the basis of these overall scores. I wasn't even attracted to the label or the brand, but I like witbiers, so I thought I'd give it a shot...
Serving style : 12 oz bottle poured into glass.
Appearance (3.25) : Aggressive pour yields a three fingered tightly knit creamy cap on top of an unusually transparent golden body (for a wit). Where's the sediment? The haze? Odd. Points docked for that. Leaves a little lacing around the glass.
Aroma (3.25) : Orange candy, a bowl of cling peaches, and a wall of faint wheat. Behind that is a little cilantro, pepper, cinnamon, and vanilla ice cream. Smells like a cloying dessert. Am I being unnecessarily negative? I dunno.
Taste (2.75) : Are you serious? This wit sucks. It's sour, watery, and the only thing saving it is the creamy orange candy creme saver finish at the very end. No wheat flavor. I should have known what to expect from the crystal clear appearance. This wit fails terribly. Ugh.
Mouthfeel (3.5) : Creamy, medium bodied, with some stinging carbonation somewhere in there. Ends semi-dry.
Overall (2.93) : Far from good, this is a poor interpretation of a wit bier. Pathetic, even. I have been dissatisfied with most of Wasatch Brewery's beers but this one is among the worst for its style. I'll probably finish it but just because I hate to see beer go down the drain.
