Poured from a bottle into a pilsner glass.

Look – light golden in color, clear, with about half a finger’s worth of foam that dissipates quickly.

Smell – floral aroma, more malty than hoppy.

Taste – floral taste as well, with a bit of a wheat-like taste to it too, but masked by a mature earthiness. The late middle and aftertaste have more of a clove-like taste.

Mouthfeel – pretty well balanced, but leans a little more toward the watery side.

Overall – interesting and good taste. Not terribly intriguing, but not boring at all, and still a good tasting brew.

Looks: extreme carbonation, requires caution and breaks to pour it all. The head does come down but enough of it sticks around.
Eventually settles to a cloudy wity yellow, a bit more golden than most Belgian wits, but very nice.
Nose: coriander, bits of citrus. Nice, and more of a nose than most Belgian wits.
Tatse: A Belgian wit with a bit more muscle. Just a bit bigger all the way around, but well balanced
Medium bodied, and highly drinkable.
A less subtle, bit stronger version of the style.
Very much enjoyed it.

12oz brown bottle with a freshness date.

LOOK: Pale golden yellow, good tiny bubbled lacing after a hard pour.

SMELL: Coriander, light orange zest, faintly peppery, bready, nutty yeast, floral

TASTE: Smooth, slightly creamy, coriander, orange peel, citric pith, plums, flowery, doughy biscuits, semi-dry finish

Very well put together and no soapy character which many US brewers love to kill this style with. Good drinking all around and I love that it is 6.0% abv ... bit more character.

The beer pours a hazy yellow color with a white head. The aroma is pretty basic for a Belgian white. I get a lot of wheat and coriander, with some orange and lemon citrus notes mixed in. The flavor is also pretty straightforward. The wheat is complimented by the coriander and slightly bitter orange peel. Thin mouthfeel and medium, soft carbonation.

This beer has a small pure white head the quickly dies above a clear golden colored beer.

The aroma is a mix of cloves, floral blossoms, spices, with maybe a little hops hiding in there.

Cloves and other spices attack the taste buds and quickly recede leaving a slight clove dryish aftertaste.

Pretty decent tasting, a little different than most beer but well worth a try. I'd like to know the food pairing for this beer.

Clear straw color. Retained a 1/4" to 1/2" head throughout. It had an aroma of spice and yeast. Tasted of cloves, wheat, and a low citrus taste. It had a light mouthfeel and carbonation was above normal. It was an easy to drink nice wit for it being domestic. Nothing special though.

Poured with the yeast a tall EKU 28 glass. Light straw yellow color with a bit of haze. Lots of coriander and a bit of lemon on the nose. Creamy carbonation and a bit more body then you see on many Wit beers, which is not a bad thing. Not my favorite wit of all time (that might be Hitachino) but definitely worth a look and one I would buy again.

Thanks go out to wasatch for this one.

Presentation: Poured from a 12 oz brown bottle into an oversized wine glass. Label is predominantly white with swirling pieces of grain. No freshness date.

Appearance: Pours with thin white head, just shy of 1 finger. This falls to an incomplete coating with a ring around the glass. Decent lacing develops as I drink. The beer itself is the color of honey and fairly cloudy. No sediment remains in the bottle after giving it a few good swirls.

Smell: Mild aroma with hints of grassiness and a distinct wheat sourness in the finish.

Taste: Ever so slightly sweet and citrusy flavor upfront with a mild bitterness in the finish. Wheat tang/sourness is noticeable.

Mouthfeel: Higher than average level of carbonation, as is appropriate for the style. Body is good.

Drinkability: A fair representation of the style; citrusy and slightly fruity with the expected bite of wheat.

Had this at the Friendly Spot in San Antonio

It poured a white gold color with a white thin head. Very transparent. Normally I expect some cloudiness.

The aroma was on the citrus side.

Like the smell, the flavor had a citrus aspect along with apple cider characteristics. There as a weak sour apple flavor. It didn't have a stand out wheat flavor like other witbiers. There was some spice flavors in the background but I couldn't really pin point anything.

It was sharply carbonated like mineral water.

There website claims it's like a Blue Moon, but better! I suppose... I guess...
For the most part I am indifferent. I wish the brewery well.

Born on: 5/25/11

Into a tulip glass, it pours a hazy pastel yellow with a soft orange glow. Some foam rises up, but not especially long lasting. There's a swirling skim of broken foam on the surface, a clinging ring around the edges, with random flecks of spotty lacing.

Soft coriander aroma, sweet with a little citrus also. Somewhat mild but traditional, thankfully not overly spicy or sweet.

Creamy feel. Orange/banana creamsicle and floral traces of coriander. Mellow and lightly sweet, wheaty and slightly dry in the aftertaste. Smooth supple feel with light carbonation. Balanced and textbook for the style, nicely put together.

Poured into a pint glass, this beer is nice to look at; its got a nice golden body that semi-cloudy, I see no carbonation what so ever, and its topped off with a nice this white and bubbly head, about one and half fingers thick and it dissipates fairly quickly to about one finger in thickness. There’s some really nice lacing in this beer. Not much to the smell, some spices, orange peel. The taste is pretty good, mild flavors overall, wheat and citrus fruit come through. It’s not as crisp as it looks, sweet throughout with slight tart flavors when it hits the sides of your mouth. The spice come through just a bit, but I can’t detect the citrus fruits in the aroma. Its got a light body and is easy on the tongue, this is a great beer for the hot days. The aftertaste is mildly tart, the spices in it are more evident here and there’s a very slight hint of alcohol.

12oz received in trade from the Utah Connection.. Wasatch! Thanks John.. I love a good Wit! Poured into my shaped SA glass after a long crappy day at work..

1" head.. foamy.. not alot of lacing.. I was hoping for more ... the brew looks spot on.. hazy and lite straw..

The aroma is more pronounced than most Wits (import or domestic) .. grainy and spicy.. a little sour is expected and appreciated..

... ooohhhh!! The flavor is great!! I don't know how exactly to describe it other than this is a fresh tasting Wit. spicy and slightly tart.. there is a definite zesty orange peel component.. but it isn't overpowering like many.. and it just adds a great layer of complexity.. grainy and maybe a touch too much spicy coriander.... but this is the way I like my Belgian Whites.... sorta herbal..

The body is very smooth... (I would guess some oats or rye maybe).. the carbonation is prickly and no where near overbearing... I am loving it right now. the finish is really pretty dry with a great coriander essence that only now makes it's roar heard..

This is a fantastic example of the style.... If given the choice, I would put the Wasatch White up against any import that I've had.. and honestly against any domestic attempt.. The only other American attempt that came close to this one (that I remember) is Harvest Moon's "Beltian White" and it's been a couple years since I had it.

John... tell the brewers at Wasatch to get this one out into the BA public.. it seriously is a contender. Thanks again.

Poured into a Funky Buddha Brewery snifter. Bottleneck says Born: 07/03/13

A- Pours a semi-hazy medium golden color with a 1/4 inch white head that retains briefly before rapidly dropping to a thin ring around the edge of the glass and light wisps of surface foam.

S- Nice yeasty wheat aroma with some mild spice.

T- Flavor follows suit bringing fruity esters and a good yeast richness. Quite drinkable and a bit sweet.

M- Feel is kind of thick, almost milky but the body is light and has medium carbonation.

O- Pretty good stuff. Not an amazing wit, but it's something I would buy a 6-pack of if I were sharing with other people.

a: nice layer of white carbonation on a pale golden beer, just a slight haze, no sediment in the bottle

s: coriander, spicy yeast, a touch of pepper, and orange peel on a crisp wheat base, some green banana, lots of wit aromatics, nice start

m: carbonation lively, moderate-high, light in body

t: crisp wheat base with a full coriander spice, some underripe banana, doughy wit yeast flavors, subtly hopped with a lingering finish of yeast and spice, slight sweetness hangs in the throat - my biggest issue with this one

d: a nice, safe, accurate representation of the style, easily drinkable

cheap single from the State Liquor Store in downtown SLC
