Picked this up today on a whim at a local store. Overall to me it seems like an IPA rather than a double. It has a 9% abv but there is not much going on here. Hops are not what I would expect in a DIPA. Taste is OK, just not exciting.

Pours a thin amber color like Nordeast if you're from Minnesota. Clear at the site and doesn't have much of a head from what I've poured. If I didn't know any better by the looks of it I would think it was a Dos Equis Amber. Has a grassy hint to it. Pine tones are faint as are caramel. Hints of alcohol to the nose but nothing like other DIPAS. Generally a flatter tasting DIPA. Definite malt taste but not as hoppy is I'd like. Goes down smooth. A light IPA beer with more of a flat feeling in the mouth. Definitely dry. These can be dangerous as they are easy to drink.

O- This beer is a smooth double IPA. These will creep up on you quick with the 9% alcohol. They go down extremely smooth without much taste of the alcohol. At $10 a six pack they are one of the cheapest DIPAs I've seen. Not one of my favorite DIPAs I must say but it gets the job done.

Dark golden color and exceptionally clear. Dense off white head. Hoppy but indistinct aroma; malt is muted. Strong citrus hops flavors backed by sweet, bready malt. Strong hops bite in the finish, almost soapy. Medium body and carbonation; some alcohol presence. Overall a good DIPA.

Poured from a can into a tulip glass. Clear golden orange with a white head and good lacing. A sweet slightly boozy smell. The taste is sweet and a bit piney. Overall, not bad.

From notes taken 02/23/17:

Semi-opaque with chunky swirls or haze and flees. A metallic, orange-copper capped with orange tinted cream colored, foamy head with uniform bubbles apart from rocky upper surface. Great retention and lacing for the style. Resin, blend of tropical fruit, perfume aromas. Very perfumy and peppery palate, though plenty of tropical fruit in the background and lesser pine and caramel suggestions and a surprising strong lemon-drop finish. Fuller body, half sudsy and half spritzy, extremely warm.

Poured a nice honey coloring with a small off white head. Showing low carbonation and a lot of lacing on the glass.
The smell was a lot of citrus and pine with some nice herbaceous notes.Getting a lot of hops coming out on the nose.
Taste is of sweet malts with a lot of hop bitterness towards the back of the mouth with some alcohol warming. The sweet of the malts and the hops were very well balanced on the taste.
This one has a medium mouth feel with a fairly thick finish to it.
Overall a very impressive beer with good malt to hop ratio. The hops were much more prevalent on the nose than on the taste. On the taste the hops were coming in more of just a bitterness at the back of the tongue. Maybe if we could see the hops pushed up just a touch.

Pours a clear, gold color. 1/3 inch head of a white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of strong piney hops, alcohol, strong spicy hops, resin, and a hint of floral hops. Fits the style of an American Double / Imperial IPA. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with a low carbonation level. There is also a slight bitterness and strong alcohol feel. Tastes of strong piney hops, alcohol, strong spicy hops, resin, hint of sweet malt, and a hint of floral hops. Overall, great appearance, aroma, and feel, with a good body and blend.
