Wasatch Apricot Hefeweizen has a thick, fluffy, white head, a hazy, golden appearance, streaming bubbles, and a bit of lacing left behind. The aroma is of apricot, tap water, and little bit of wheat. The taste is the same, with a low bitterness. Mouthfeel is light to medium and somewhat slick. Wasatch Apricot Hefeweizen finishes rather wet, watery, and dull. Overall, this is just average.

Appearance: high carbonation, 1/2 inch head, clear, orange-yellow in color

Smell: wheat, apricot, and light Belgian spices

Taste: big juicy apricot, white grape juice, and light Belgian spices

Mouthfeel: sweet with light bitterness at the end, light body, high carbonation

Overall: One of the better offerings from this brewery that I have had so far. Huge apricot taste. This is one that I could have several of on a hot day.

Poured a clear, very light pale gold colour. Smells strongly of apricots with heavy sweet pale malts. Tastes just like it smells; heavy sweet apricot, but very light-bodied and not syrupy as expected. Sweet but also crisp. Interesting.

L: Hazy straw gold under a thin white cap that quickly dissapears.
S: Has a big apricot nose with a little light biscuit, malt and wheat in the background.
T: Apricot combined with a touch of wheat tartness and a little lemon. The apricot tastes added and a little artificial walking the border between beer and soda pop.
F: Light body, above average carbonation.
O: Refreshing but needs a little something to keep it in the realm of an adult beverage.

Poured from a 12 oz. can into a tall pint glass.

Appearance: Pours a very hazy yellowish golden orange with a lot of rising bubbles. About two fingers of white head that settle into a thin patchy layer.

Smell: A fruity and sweet wheat driven aroma with hints of apricot and other fruits. Pale malt and wheat with hints of grains, cracker, and yeast. Big scent of fruit with lots of apricot and hints of orange, mango, and lemon. Hints of coriander spice. Sweet hints of sugar as well. A decent aroma.

Taste: Like the smell, a fruity and sweet wheat driven taste with notes of apricot and light spice. Pale malt and wheat with hints of cracker, grains, straw, and yeast. Big taste of apricot fruit along with some notes of mango, orange, and lemon zest. Light notes of coriander spice. Also some notes of sugar. A pretty decent taste.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied with a medium to high level of carbonation. Crisp, clean, and fruity. Very smooth.

Overall: A pretty decent fruit beer. The Hefeweizen elements are minimal but the citrus flavor is good.

Why all the low scores???? I found this be er to be an absolute delight. First off, it's clean as can be. No abrasiveness or out-of-sorts flavor or brewing to put you off in my opinion. Second, it's a light and fruity blend of dancing floral flavors. Almost tasting like a brute or desert wine of some kind. Absolutely awesome, because it's not - it's an apricot flavored beer. Definitely I would estimate this quality against some of the best that I've had, including Alaskan and Central Waters. I especially find that Alaskan brews clean beers and this is extremely clean as well which is appreciated and noted with a smile. I mean, I guess how I could see how this 'isn't your beer,' but seriously, to be 100% honest I can't see how in the hell you can complain. This is incredibly well-brewed, with a clean and refreshing flavor. I guess I'll let others judge whether or not it's the best example of a Hefe, but at the same time I would argue that no matter your opinion on that subject, this is a quality beer and wonderful clean flavor that won't offend and ought to please. Thanks Wasatch!

Delicate apricot greets you in the nose of Wasatch Apricot Hefeweizen. It's soft, fruity, and very realistic. Beyond that it's a typical American hefe-weizen with a cloudy golden-orange body and short-lived bright-white head. The apricot carries over into the flavor and dominates over the mild wheat-based maltiness beneath, but it's not overbearing. On the contrary, it's quite engaging, and subtly tart and refreshing. It's very lightly hopped to match it's light, delicately sweet maltiness, and it finishes dry with a lingering note of residual apricot. I'm sure it would make a great summer beer for any barbeque or sporting event, but to be honest, I'd welcome it at almost any time of the year. Nicely done. Quaffable!
