This was actually a beer that my wife ordered when we went out to dinner in St. George, UT following the Ironman 70.3 in that same city. This is typically not my choice style but I figured I would give it a shot. Why not?

This beer pours a cloudy/heavy haze golden hue that has a thin white head which has minimal retention and low carbonation visible. 3.5/5 The aroma is definitely fruity, as it should be per the name, but the added fruit really overpowers the normal hefeweizen aromas of banana and clove. Apricot may be the name, but my wife and I got way more peach than apricot. It is not a bad aroma, it's just not what either of us expected. 3.5/5 The flavor profile is just like the aroma, more apricot and peach than normal Hef flavors. There is a definite wheat flavor that comes through plus a very light bitterness from grassy and herbal hops. It is almost like drinking a slightly hopped version of a sparkling peach juice. 3.5/5 This is a medium bodied beer that has faint carbonation and is slightly viscous and mouthcoating, along with a bit of creaminess that works its way through. There is no drying and very low carbonation. 4/5 This is an interesting beer that, as I said before, really doesn't have the traditional Hef flavors. It's basically an American peach/apricot wheat beer (i.e. Shock Top) that they decided to name a Hefeweizen. Hefs are one of my go to beers, this particular Hef is not. 3.5/5

Pours a very pale yellow with almost no head. The smell is a strong apricot with a really nice apricot taste. It is a smooth beer thats easy to swallow. An above average fruit beer.

This may be biased as I am not a fan of fruit beer, but, I have had fruit beers that I have liked. This beer pours like any hefe, light cloudy yellow. Sort of like you have been drinking water throughout the day, but not enough. The smell is not good... Read the previous sentence. It smells like that. Taste is very unpleasant to me, makes me squeamish. Very very slight apricot, after that flavor it just tastes like perfume, it's garbage. Simply not a good beer. I live in Utah and Wasatch is my enemy of the state. They have 0 great beers. They have 1-3 that are okay, but nothing ever tasty. This beer is rated disgusting for me and many of my friends who have also had it.

Poured from a can into a standard Hefeweizen glass. A rough pour produces barely 1 finger of head with rather poor retention for the style. Other than that, the appearance is acceptable. It's straw-colored and hazy. The nose is unlike your typical hefeweis. The apricot is really strong on the nose and hides the typical phenolic clove and banana notes one expects. Besides the apricots, there are definitely some sweet grainy notes.

Medium-light body with a pleasant fruity flavor, but a rather dead feel. Sweet grainy flavors up front, fresh toast, a hint of banana and clove, then lots and lots of apricots. They meld very well with the other flavors, even the mild hop presence. The gaininess comes back a bit on the back of the palate, so the finish could be drier, but overall this is a flavorful, refreshing beer. I just wish it had more effervescence. The almost complete lack of carbonation really hurts it.

Pour is a golden semi hazy hue. Very lively, white tight bubbled head with nice lacing. Smell is a mixture of sweet malt and watered down apricots. Almost a perfume, scented candle going on. Smell like bed bath and body works, not really a good thing. With the taste, the apricot diminishes completely and a watered down sweet malt profile arrives. Some hints of wheat and artificial sweetener. Mouthfeel is thin and moderately carbonated.

Below average hefeweissbier covered up with tons of fruity sweetness. I would not recommend this beer. Just go with a standard no fruited hefe and you'll be happier.
