I have been coming to Kahn's Deli for years. It is an institution in the Rice Village area, but just recently they started carrying a handful of craft beers on tap. It is a small place with exposed brick, art work, and old pictures of Houston. The counter that use to have all the meats and cheeses is now a long bar that is bright Rockets Red. A cooler behind that, a few TV's, and the tap handles to the side. There are a couple of booths, and a few tables set up out front. A chalk board has all the sandwiches listed. Really chill and relaxed.
The service can be spotty, and they are not that beer savy. Though they are nice and work hard. The food is great. Numerous different reubens, which are some of the best in the city. Pastrami and any other kind of sandwich you can think of. The food is a bit pricey, but not a big deal.
On to the beer. 10 taps of mostly locals. Southern Star, Saint Arnold, No Label, Karback, Real Ale, etc. They do growler fills as well. There is a cooler with various bottles. Plenty of Texas beers again, but also Bear Republic, Stone, some Belgians. Not the greatest, but a nice selection.
I come here all the time for lunch befor heading off to Gingerman just down around the block. Now I have an excuse to sit and stay a little longer.
