Pay no attention to prior written reviews. This beer is damn good and brewed exactly as advertised. Finishing off a six-pack with the final bottle poured into a snifter. Managed to get a one-finger head with impressive lacing. The scent is very hoppy and somewhat smoky. The taste is an excellent combination of brown and IPA ales; sort of what you'd expect out of an Indian Brown Ale. There are heavy chocolate notes, a bit of coffee, and of course hops. With the tagline, "obscenely malted hopiness," and a 6.8% ABV, this is an extremely drinkable hoppy brown ale.

12 oz bottle was poured into a pint glass.

Appearance: A one finger off white head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is an amber copper color with little clarity and vision of bubbles coming up through the glass. Frothy lacing down the glass as the beer was drank too.

Smell: Pine and citrus hops followed by roasted coffee, chocolate, burnt caramel, and toasted malts.

Taste: Definitely hop forward with a balanced malt backbone. Some chewy and bitterness notes in the rear too.

Mouthfeel: Chewy, medium bodied, medium carbonation, and light bitterness.

Overall: Very nice hoppy brown ale. I'll definitely drink this again.

Superior to Shed Brown. Has a darker more coffee-ish malt flavor as well as a lingering hippy bitterness. Very nice, the best Shed beer I've had so far.
