Very tasty - I've had this several times before, but the current batch of everything Shed is mighty good beether. The only thing I don't like about this beer is the hazy color, it just isn't a color that looks good hazy, to me. The real hit is that the malts are clean and clear balanced by solid but not strong bitterness. The smell is more malt than flower and the taste is similar. The taste is only a touch sour, which is great, and the flavor reminds me of molasses. It's got small batch goodness. The alcohol is mildly a part of the flavor as well. Aftertaste is clean, mildly lingering sweetness making me thirsty for the next sip. Mouthfeel is a little thinner than I expected for this gravity, but might be just right for the style. Very solid beer.

Dark brown ale, high abv and high malt. The texture is a wonderful smooth creaminess - rare for a brown ale. Taste is sweet without being cloying, some dry fruit and medium-dark caremelization. But a mild tartness compliments the sweet malt perfectly. All the flavors meld together agreeably so that no aspect is overpowering.

Great balance for a strong brown ale! "Rugged Brown Ale" is how the label describes it and I think that's a great summary!

Look-light brown/copper, minimal head and ultra thin lace.
Smell-sweet aroma, toasted malts, nutty, fruity esters, strong caramel and some alcohol. The aroma is its best attribute.
Taste- At first, really liked the sweetness on the tongue. Malty, dark fruit, nutty, caramel, and buttery. However, as the drink warms, the alcohol finish becomes a bit much for me. I would have preferred a stronger hops presence to balance it out.
Feel-medium bodied and softly carbonated. The prevalence of the alcohol leaves it a bit unbalanced.

This was the third beer from a Shed mix pack I picked up. I would say the only one in the box that was below what I expected. A decent looking brown ale but not a big flavor to this ale. I'd love to see something else in there mix pack as the other 3 beers where pretty good.
