Look - Pours a hazy deep dark amber color with fine sediment, short tan head flattens out into a thin ring.
Aroma - Toffee, honey, sweet apple, tangy. As it warms a suggestion of aged rum.
Taste - Doughy bread, sweet honey, slightly toasty, very warm and lush malt. Golden raisin sweetness towards the middle. Hops come through towards the end with earthy bitterness and finishes with a nutty aftertaste that reminds me of toasted tobacco. Alcohol peaks through as it warms. Starts sweet and ends refreshing and dry.
Feel - Full bodied, creamy and fine carbonation, faint alcohol warmth, dry finish.

Overall -It's big, chewy, malty, sweet and complex. Something I could sip on all day and enjoy a cigar with. Delicious.

Dark brown color with almost zero head.
Sweet malt aroma. Subtle.
Caramel and maple syrup taste.
Medium-bodied. Very malt forward. A little too sweet for me.

L -- Very dark and clear amber with a nice off-white two finger head. Moderate lacing.
S -- Malts, oats, maple, bread
T -- Smoky, malty, slightly hoppy, and sweet dough
F -- Full bodied and deceptively alcoholic. Very good
O -- The beer that turned me on to craft beers (I'm from Vermont). Because of this, I honorarily give it a 5.

Ignore all the other reviews. This is the best brown ale I have ever had, with wonderfully nuanced Hops and bitterness, and with a slight chili aftertaste. It is pure and clean ,deceptively strong; a temporary reprieve from all your troubles. Do not drive

Draft @ Manchester Crowne Plaza. Dark caramel brown color, with off white head and good lacing. Not much aroma, slightly sweet. Good taste. Initially good malt, a little caramel, soon evolves into an almost medicinal flavor, bitter aftertaste. Is better than it sounds. Med body, lively carbonation. Tasted better first few sips. Gets a little more bitter as it goes. Not bad for a British Ale.
