My wife ordered this beer during a recent trip to the SO tasting room where we met a couple of our good friends. She is a big Kolsch fan so she was excited to order this one up and give it a shot. As always, I got several sips in order to log a proper review.

This beer pours a clear, golden color that is low in carbonation and is graced with a light, frothy, bright white head that dissipates nice and slowly to a thin lacing. 4/5 The aroma is much more malty than hoppy but the hops are noticeable. Aromas of light grain, lemon zest, corn, grass, and pepper all come through nicely with a decent sweetness from the malt. 3.5/5 The flavor profile is well balanced between the malt and the hops with a light caramel and white bread leading the way, quickly followed by a bit of grain and sweet corn. The hops come in roughly halfway through the sip with a hint of lemon zest and a nice grassy note. The flavor feels a bit light but it fits the style nicely. As the beer warms a very light fruity note of pear peeks through. Bitterness is very light and does not linger after swallowing. 3.75/5 This is a light to medium bodied beer that is light on carbonation and is fairly wetting but not coating. It is more of a slick sensation on the tongue. There is no real drying here and no lingering dryness. The mouthfeel disappears fairly quickly after swallowing. 4/5 This is a well balanced Kolsch that stays true to style and is well crafted. This style is not a particularly complex style in terms of aromas and flavors, and this beer stays true to that very well. 3.75/5

On-tap at Albion, New York, NY

A: The beer is crystal clear light yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high bright white head that died down, leaving a narrow ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of green grapes and biscuit and cracker malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, but the biscuit and cracker malt flavors are a little stronger.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. The cracker malts lend a little dryness to the finish.
O: This is a good representation of the style. I liked the grape-like flavors.

Clear light yellow with a white head. Malt and grain aroma with some fruitiness. Flavor is light cracker malt, some grain, and a bit of fruit. Spicy hops finish it off. Feel is crisp, thirst-quenching, and refreshing. A nice sessionable summer beer.

A- Can pours into my glass with a clear medium golden yellow body and a fluffy white head. Cap height peaks at about a finger high and retention is fairly good. Lacing is hard to come by.

S- Subtle, balanced and lacking any major off aromas. The grains come in with a crackery honey sweetness which is joined by pale fruit esters like pear and a very light spicy hop hint.

T- Stays on track with what the aroma brought for the most part with the malts gaining some strength on the palate. Light base grains present crackery, bready and grainy mash flavors which are countered nicely by pale grape vinous hints from the yeast and floral, spicy hops. Again, subtle all around in Kolsch fashion.

MF- Smooth and silky with a rather creamy texture. This consistency comes with strength despite the beer having a light feel on the palate. Subtle bitterness in the finish.

Kolsch is certainly not an easy style to brew at all and this one is quite good. No major off flavors or flaws with subtle pale barley, light fruit and spicy hops.

Golden in color. Clear in appearance. Complex grain malt profile. Getting some banana, toasted barley and bread. Some earthy noble hop bitterness on the finish. Medium bodied, but light and crisp at the same time. Real good.
