64oz growler poured into my Terrapin shaker glass. Body is dark amber-red with some brownish hues. Frothy ivory colored head holds good retention and leaves good lacing on the glass. Aroma is intense - fruity; juicy grapefruit; bold, dank, floral hops; toasted grain, caramel. Tastes are just as bold - very hop-forward with pungent grapefruit and pine resin, good malt backbone with notes of burnt caramel, toasted grains, rye bread crust. Mouth-feel is medium bodied, very resiny, finishes rather dry, ample carbonation, hop oils cling to the palate. The huge malt bill tries to keep the hop bitterness in check, but it can't, as hops prevail. Alcohol is hot and noticeable as the ale warms. Overall, I really enjoyed the complex flavors this ale offers. The aroma was exceptional, but it seemed to be a little out of balance for the style category it is in. Still very good and worth the try, especially if you like west coast style ales, which I'm assuming the brewer was going for here. I'm looking forward to trying their other offerings very soon...and finishing this growler!

L: poured part of 22 oz bottle into a pint glass. Little foam and a beautiful rich deep amber color.
S: some Citra hop and amber ale
T and F: a bold and delicious amber ale with a lovely blend of hop (not overbearing, which I like) and citrus flavor in the middle finished with a slight bitterness from the hop.
O: a very good imperial amber ale that is 7.7% but not overly hoppy (my palate prefers Carmely and malty). Nice uniform and rich flavor. Would drink again.

Vibrant red hue with a heavy creamy off white head. Served in a nonic.

Not much in the aromatic department, but what does exist is grapefruit and melon. Bready and caramel malt.

Nice citrus flavors. Orange and grapefruit. Pine needles. Bready and caramel malts.

Full mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Very clean.

A really nice red ale with a hopped up punch.

Appearance looks as if I just poured a glassful of carbonated maraschino cherry juice. Pretty, but not all that appetizing.

Tart, slightly of dried cherries, slight hop resin, and hints of honey.

I taste pear, cantaloupe, another melon too, possibly honeydew as it is very faint. Very tasty.

Mouthfeel has a slight cough syrup aftertaste bitterness about it that I am not about at all.

Overall this beer is alright, but I'm still trying to get the cough syrup aftertaste out of my mouth.

This is a very good beer. Deep red in color, has a pretty full head - though I was worried that it'd be very carbonated. It's very smooth drinking, with a full mouth feel.

You can definitely taste the malt and citrus. I drank mine in a mason jar and it was superb.
