The color is brown, yet red. There's a small amount of head, and virtually no lacing. It is pretty clear, too.

Smell ain't much. Cherry is indeed the main scent, but it's sour (not in a good way) and tinny. Medicinal.

The taste has tons of oak up front. There's not as much sweetness as expected, and the connection to cherries is tenuous. For that matter, I just don't get a lot of that fruit, and I have to really search for it. The only other taste that really stands out is woodsy grain, something along the lines of barley.

A swish brings out plenty of carbonation, but it's not prickly. I think the aftertaste has what the taste should be, which is something close to those chocolate-covered cherries.

Bottling date is a year ago, and purchase date is six months ago, so maybe that's not ideal, but I've had so many ostensibly similar brews that hold up better.

Pours a deep ruby to mahogany with an initial fizz then a tiny off white string of bubbles linger around the edge of the glass. Intense sour aroma that makes the salivary glands flow before a sip, along with cherries and the faintest hint of oak. Flavor is incredibly balanced of sweet and sour cherries, a touch of baryard saison like funk, and a mild oak barrel ending. Feel is almost velvety smooth after the initial spritz of carbonation, tart but much less than expected, and incredibly easy to drink. Overall, this was a very impressive beer, and I absolutely get the bloodlust! Cheers!
