On tap at Bagby Beer Co. In Oceanside. Kind of a one note beer but pretty tasty for that one note. Crisp, clean and refreshing. I could/would drink a lot of this during the warmer months.

On tap at Societe Brewing Co. in San Diego, CA.

A- Similar to Societe's other pale ale offerings- light golden-yellow body, clear in clarity. One finger white head with low retention time; it doesn't keep for long. A bit of lacing here and there.

S- Citrus hop aromas; favoring grapefruit but also a bit of oranges; caramel, biscuits. Not complicated.

F- Grainy pale malt, a bit of caramel, grapefruit. As in the nose, not too complicated. It seems to fall quite short of The Pupil in terms of the complexity and depth of the hop aromas, but it's still quite flavourful. It's closer to an APA, really. Might be some pine on the backend, but I would probably say that grapefruit bitterness is the predominant flavour on the finish.

M- Medium-thin bodied, good carbonation, crisp with a nice pep to it. It would make for a nice patio beer on a cooler summer day. Good drinkability, not too bitter.

O- Decent offering, nice grapefruit hop aromas but not a lot of depth or complexity to this one, especially compared to The Pupil which is a superior IPA.

Final score: 3.78
