8oz pour at the brewery. Review entered from notes.
Pours dark with a small head. Roasty, tons f coffee, hint of anise.
Taste is similar, some burnt toffee and cocoa.
Mouthfeel is light, very dry. Overall, pretty good.

Packaged on 3/6/23 - enjoyed on 3/17/23. Poured from a pint can into a Duralex tumbler. Served at 60F.
Clear bole body with a fizzy dun head receding rapidly to naught. Minimal lacing; poor retention.
Hints of chocolate covered almonds, prunes, and medium-roast coffee in the nose, riding the line between subtle and weak. Vaguely floral perhaps.
Root-beer, decent milk chocolate, and vanilla flavors are offset by mild earthy hop notes. Dry finish, but with a faint returning sweetness. Roast barley is just perceptible. Low bitterness. Subtle yeast character. No off notes.
Fairly thin, soda-like mouth-feel.
Flavor is to style, yet novel - more fruit/chocolate than roast barley/coffee. Execution seems a little off though.

Look: tan frothy head over a really black body. Cola brown if you look through a thin film.
Smell: malt and smoke
Taste: Guiness, while too watery for me, has some nuance. This is kind of like drinking French roast coffee when you’re used to light roast. Sort of burnt and one dimension.
Feel: goes down easy.
I’ll not be buying this again.

Pint at THG.
A: Pours like black coffee with a thin cap of tan foam that faded into a thin collar. Spotty lace.
S: Roasted nose with hints of char and smoke. Meaty smoke smelling.
T: Roasted flavors, light hints of char and smoke, but roasted overall, with a light hint of caramel and faint tootsie roll. Ambiguous roast throughout, smoky aftertaste.
M: Light body, clean and smooth light mouthfeel, light flavor, light carbonation.
O: Smooth and flavorful, light and quaffable. I could drink this often.
