Bud Select huh... lets see. 4.3% alcohol huh?

P- Brown bottle like most Bud products. Red crown "Budweiser Select" emblems on bottle. Born on date May 22,2009. ( Close on the Date )

A- Pours a typical american light beer look with the straw light yellow look and mild tight bubbly head that falls to a small ring. Leaves little lacing.

S- Smell is of mild grains with maybe a little malt.

T- Bland mixes of artifical sweetness with hints of metallic notes followed by very light malts.

M- Smooth with a thin watery feel.

D- Drinkable for situation where drinking alot is the main idea.

Note: To me this is a Bud Light mixed with regular Bud. But hey Full flavor only 99 calories!

Poured from a 24 oz. can. Has a pale yellow color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is mild, some maltiness. Taste is, uh, missing for the most part. Crisp and flavorless. Feels light in the mouth. Drinkability is good, great for drinking games. Overall this is a fairly unimpressive beer.

So funny story behind this one. I went to high school with a direct relative of the Busch family and drank this brew in front of this person. The whole time, my brother and I got a lecture on how this brew used "the choicest hops" and "the finest ingredients," which turned out to be his biggest mistake.

My brother then proceeded to go into a rant on how this brew was simply a mixture of Bud and Bud Light and thrown into a bottle. Going on further to explain to this person how he, nor Busch, knows what hops are or what they taste like. Got pretty heated, but he was a stubborn one.

A: Pours a transparent golden straw color that produces a modest bone white cap that retains poorly. Bubbles are constantly flowing from the bottom and this one looks alot like seltzer.

S: Not too much here, some subtle grain, corn, wheat, and a metallic note that I seem to pick up with all brews of the style.

T: Same as the nose. Generally flavorless, watery, and corny.

MF/D: I never knew beer could be this carbonated; it is comparable to soda! Light light body, short wheat finish.

So after this whole ordeal, what have I learned you ask? I have learned that relatives of the people that own these giant breweries are just as ignorant as the people they advertise to. That is all.

Wow where to begin...

Very poor appearance, looks like light golden colored water with very little head.

Very little smell, faint malt aroma.

The taste is very light malt with faint hop taste, very watery.

Decent mouthfeel, although the carbonation is much too high.

The drinkability is poor, there is not much flavor and doesn't satisfy a beer craving at all. Weak...

From the 24 fl. oz. can marked 27 JUN09-WB07. Sampled on August 3, 2009. The pour is an ultra carbonated pale yellow with about an inch thick puffy white head. The smell is of corn, grain, and a glimmer of hops and not quite as metallic as its older brother Budweiser regular. The mouthfeel is fairly thin. The taste is slightly hopped and grassy but not as horrible as other reviewers have noted and it leaves no aftertaste. It goes down pretty quickly like water.

This is i would say an good hot day beer. A wheat beer would be more preferable but i havent one.

A- Pours lightly colored. Would have a large head if you poured it vigorously.

S- its hard to tell maybe grains, or the adjunt used to induce the grainlike effect. Either way it has no hop characteristics at all.

T- crisp and bubbly. Maybe the tiniest of a hop twinge

M- crisp and clean

D- it has the ability to be drank.
deffinately sessionable

Pours a clear golden yellow color with a small head. The aroma is of grains and there is a small presence of hops. The smell is better than other light beers. The taste has slight floral hops and once again is better than other light beers in this class. The mouthfeel is of moderate carbonation. Overall this beer isn't great, but it is better than others in the class.

It is clearly a bud product. It tastes like every other bud product. This beer is nothing special. My friend is absolutely crazy about this beer and I have no idea why. He likes the macro lagers but I mean c'mon you have to know that this is junk. I wouldn't even drink it if it were free.

I have had this beer in the past, before I was really into craft beer, and thought it was decent. For what it is, it is a decent beer. It has good flavor for a light lager and it is highly drinkable in the sense you could easily have many of these. Compared to something like a Goose Island IPA it is watery. I know its easy to bash the big boys but I rated this beer as to how it compares to others in its category and by that standard its a winner. Will I seek this beer out? No. I was at a festival this weekends and this was one of the three beers they had. The lesser of the three evils.

Serving Type: Bottle, poured into Budweiser glass.

A: Very Light, not much color. Head and lacing disappear almost instantly.

S: Very light also, almost smells like beer.

T: Smooth and easy to drink. Very slight taste of hops, but nothing to get excited about. I'd call it the soda pop of beer.

M: Extremely light. Feels very watered down, almost non-existent beer feel.

D: Certainly easy to drink. One step up from O'Douls but less flavor. Almost like a regular Budweiser cut with 50% water, or a Bud Light cut with 25% water. If you're looking for refreshment without taste, this is the beer for you...

Overall, it's not a very good beer. This is lighter than light beer. If Dasani made beer-flavored water, this is what it would taste like.

Not really sure why this was brought on the market...maybe just a marketing ploy, along with Bud's American Ale...same shit just bottled differently to make long time Bud drinkers think they're trying something "new."

This light lager has a typical Bud pale yellow color with a foamy off-white head that stays throughout. A good amount of lacing was left on the glass, but not sure what it's from as after the initial crisp, carbonated first sip, this beer quickly goes downhill until towards the end, it feels like you're drinking water from a glass that previously had a real beer in it.

Not really any worse than Bud Light or Bud, but certainly not better.

I'm working on trying some cheaper, lower ABV beers for summer, lately. I don't think I've ever had a Bud product that I enjoyed, but this one is at least passable. I did wonder, when I saw it, what they meant by "Select"-- was it Bud's best selections of hops and malts, or their directive way of telling you to "select it." I'm still clueless but it's definitely not the best ingredients available to them.

A= almost clear light-light-yellow, very little head. An occasional lone bubble rising to the top.

S= yes something, but I can't quite describe it. Probably the light whiff of corn or something.

T= I've been trying bottles of this over the past week. On a clean palate it's acceptable. If you just had a conflicting beer, though, you might get a more flat taste. Basically, cold beverage with a "here's your token hop" and "here's your token corn-barley malt flavor." Very singular and uncomplicated.

M= fairly clean, slightly rusty at times.

D= you'd survive if it was the only beer at a party.

Bought a twelve pack of Bud Select bottles for under $10.

A: Straw yellow, with hints of brown around the edges of the glass. For wine drinkers, this hints of an over-aged chardonnay that is way past its prime. No head retention, small bubbles are present.

S: Very faint -- after pouring the beer into a glass I still wasn't able to discern any actual aromas. Maybe a touch of crushed crackers (grain), but too little to notice.

T&M: First sips are reminiscent of drinking cold water -- very little complexity, and the carbonation hits toward the end along with a prickle of alcohol. I'd honestly feel that I was drinking ice cold club soda if poured blind. The mouthfeel is clean and crisp. Very, very light.

D: Definitely not worth the money -- there are many other alternatives for a lighter beer that will give you greater flavor and more bang for the buck. At the very least it goes down easy, but lacks character or intensity. Bland, bland, bland...

A pale clear yellow with a thin fizzy head, well carbonated no lacing. Aroma of cooked corn and hay, and a hint of grain. Flavor is pretty bland, slightly sweet, corn and paper, slightly metallic. Thin watery body, with a crisp clean mouthfeel. This was drinkable and not offensive but I don't believe I would ever buy it again for any reason.

Poured from a 12 oz. brown bottle with twist-off cap. Born-on date is clearly printed on the back label.

Pours an extremely clear, exceptionally pale straw color with a full head of rocky white foam that disappears fairly slowly and leaves behind some decent webbing of lace on the glass.

A vague hit of grain in the nose along with the very faintest whiff of grassy hops.

Extraordinarily light-bodied, fairly well-carbonated with a palate of very soft and slightly sweet grain and a crisp, dry and very watered-down finish.

As expected, this is wonderfully drinkable, as it has hardly more flavor than a glass of club soda -- in fact, I'm fairly sure that I drank a few different types of carbonated mineral water in Germany that had more flavor to them. Calling this "beer" almost seems sacriligious, but the definition of what beer is classes this accordingly. What a shame.

"Full Flavor. 99 Calories."

A - Pours a clear light gold color with a massive white head. Nice lacing.

S - Light corn, adjuncts, and a hint of hops.

T - A little bit of hops, a little bit of malt, and some sweet corn.

M - Light bodied, rather thin.

D - High. Easy drinking if you're just looking to kill brain cells. More flavor than Bud Light and less than Budweiser so I guess that's a plus.

Final Thoughts: Not bad if you're counting calories.

16 oz can I picked up at the Crawfish Boil Music Festival in Birmingham, AL this weekend. We had gone through quite a few of these over the 2 day festival being as there was no real selection to choose from. Somehow, one survived the humid days and made it back in the backpack we used as a cooler. This one was served up in a 16oz lager glass.

A: Pours your pretty typical macro color. Getting a very simple golden yellow color that is completely clear in the body. This thing actually gave me a good two fingers of tiny bubbly white head that quickly fell about an eighth of an inch that held pretty well. Actually a good amount of lace resting on the glass for a macro. Tons of carbonation activity in the glass. As far as macros go, its just a touch above run of the mill.

S: This is not that great at all. Its actual most dominating aroma is that of dirty water. Other than that you maybe get a bit of corn and a touch of malt, but nothing that makes up for that smell. Not a good thing at all.

T: As far as macro and light lagers go, you know this is not that bad. You have the typical macro flavors. Get the barley and heavy corn flavors. The corn is not overpowering because it is milded by a decent pale malt presence. There is also a touch of lightly salted butter flavor. Its average and typical flavors but they are nice to see a "full bodied" macro flavor in this light lager. Not bad at all.

M: Light bodied brew that lives up to the wateriness and thin body that is expected from such a brew. The carbonation is pretty high and crisp. Pretty refreshing brew. Finishes pretty clean with little aftertaste lingering.

D: Yet again, comparing this only to other macro styles its got decent drinkability. Goes down incredibly easy and is nice and light in the belly. Not bad at all for 99 calorie brew. I've sure as hell had worse and this beer is not bad at all. Sure its not a mind blowing brew, but it is a macro style lager. Its not meant to blow your mind. Its to keep you refreshed and cool you off. It does just that and brings a bit of flavor to the equation. Could be a hell of a lot worse thats for sure.

Pours a pale golden color with no head. Smells faintly of straw and mainly corn. Tastes the same way. Its highly carbonated and has a very dry finish. It drinks easy so if you wanted something inoffensive and to slam back 8 of this would be an ok choice, but all in all its boring.

Holy crap! I was trapped at a family outing, and a few bottles of Budweiser Select had been left in the fridge from the previous fall (so age could possibly be an issue).

I try to be fair, I appreciate what macro lagers are, but this is just crap, plain and simple. Again, I might have had a bad bottle, but if this is what it's supposed to taste like, I can't imagine even the lowest of common denominators thinking this is acceptable, much less "select".

Once of the worst I've had thus far.

Bud Select has a limpid straw-gold color, crystal clear, with little head retention after an initial burst of foam. The nose is very neutral, a touch grainy, but otherwise almost non-existent. The flavor is sweet malt, with no detectable bitterness. But, it's very clean and not excessively grainy. Bland is the key word for this beer.

Poured a straw color with little head that quickly vanished. Left no retention on the glass. Smell? What am I smelling? Water? Maybe a hint of grain in there, not very much aroma it gives off. The taste, somewhat like the smell. Tasted very close to water with a slight and i mean slight grainy hint. As it sits in your mouth it is easily mistaken for water. Very light with little carbonation. After it goes down, it leaves no taste in your mouth. If you want something refreshing that taste close to water then this brew is for you. Oh and its only 99 calories

well, the marketing campaign works wonders for me to even be holding this beer right now.

clear, easy yellow, no substance. slight fizzy head goes down quick.

adjuct city on the smell. sour and grainy.

corn, wheat, yeast, and sugar on the flavor. no substance or aftertaste that doesn't resemble sour well water. a little rusty, even.

fizzy, light, easy to swallow texture.

well, it is not as good as other light beers. so therefore, why would I prefer to drink this over other at least passable options?

Very pale yellow with a white head that fades quick and leaves no lace. Smell of faint toasted grain and nothing else. Tastes of watered down cereal grains, mildly sweet with a watery mouthfeel. This beer is lame, avoid. There are a million better beers, even in this catagory.

Served on tap in a pint.

The intial appearance of this beer is a pale straw color. You can see right through it (perfect in a table tap if you want to see your company on the otherside). There was a thin half inch white head on the top of the glass.

The beer had a faint smell to it, the usual cereal, grainy aroma of macrobrews.

The taste was unimpressive, yet it faired better than I initially expected. Even when cutting carbs it retained some flavor to Bud light (kind of makes that one obsolete if you have a choice between the big three).

The beer was heavily carbonated, and similar to water. That being said it was easy enough to put down a couple of them in quick succession while eating wings.

Final Thoughts - What is there to really say? We know what it is, a low carb macro brew. It contains minimal calories and taste. That being said it goes down easy enough for drinking games and whatever else. Little other redeeming qualites (used to be $1, but now sits at $1.50 a pint. Always a winning feature in my book).

Pours a crystal clear golden color with a one inch bright white foamy head. Poor head retention.

The aroma is unimpressive. It's sweet, with a pale toasted malt, kind of bready.

The taste is not very good. A pale toasted malt, corn, grain, and a bit of butter. Not much going on and what is going on isn't so fantastic.

Mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with a high dose of gentle carbonation.

Drinkability is low to moderate. The beer would be sessionable due to the low alcohol, but the flavor profile is boring at best, and what little is happening tastes generic and poorly crafted.
