Dad handed me a bottle, so what are you gonna do. The beer is a clear golden color with a compact white head that gives up the ghost quickly. Minimal lacing. Faint grainy malt aroma. Light seltzer water body with light grain and malt flavors. The finish is absolutely flavorless unless you call bubbles a flavor. Truly a beer for people who do not like beer.

Born On: 20AUG06

Super-clear honey-amber hue with a foamy off-white head that fizzles away leaving some thin fractured lace on top. Smells slightly more than absolutely nothing...faint caramel and a cheap fruitiness. The taste is very clean, as expected, sweet and husky grains with some fruits that show up in the middle. The body is far too similar to water with prickly carbonation...just about zero character. Obviously drinks pretty easily but, why would you want to?

The new look of light beer! Hooray! It still sucks...

Michelob Ultra Amber has a medium, off-white head, a clear, bubbly, amber appearance, and a few lacing streaks left behind on the glass. The aroma is weak, but mild, sweet roastiness and faint grain can be detected. Taste is also thin, but generalized grain, a ghost of caramel, and the ever so slightest breath of hop bitterness is present. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Michelob Ultra Amber finishes crisp, clean, and refreshing. It’s pretty dull.

pours clear amber gold with a 2+ finger head that fades fast and left no lacing

smells like a sweet toasty macro

taste is sweet yet has some roasted notes - leaves a bad macro aftertaste

mouthfeel is thin but not overly carbonated like most light macros

drinkability is ok - if you are watching your carbs this might be the beer for you

light amber in appearance, with a strange orange tinge, makes it look like liquid rust for some reason. Small bubbly white head. Quite a fruity/sweet malty aroma, not that bad considering the source. In taste it is sweet, highly carbonated, slight beer taste, very soda-like in mant aspects reminds me of the cans of "Bass Shandy" i used to get as a kid back in the UK..but that was 0.5% this is 5% really? Light water filled mouthfeel. To be honest this wasnt quite as bad as I expected..if it were hot outside and iwas working this would be ok.

There's nothing offensive about this, it's a slightly flavored beer with low alcohol and a very thin feel. I detect a touch of barley malt, caramel, and roasted nut swimming in a pool of water. If I want to drink light and get a buzz and a bit of flavor this would be a go to.

this beer had a slight carbonated feel to it. Not especially strong taste wise and I consider this a party beer where quantity wins out. I would definitely drink it again especially on a hot southern summer day. Appearance was of good color and it had a nice aroma that was not off the mark from its taste.

Poured into a 12oz glass and was in no danger of spilling a drop. Theres virtually no head, and anything that did form, was gone after I blinked. I wouldn't call the color amber...if anything is was a slightly darker shade of normal FYB. Smell was tinny and metallic with some sort of malt-like smell. This tasted awful, like stagnant carbonated water. Has the feel too of water...I'd rather drink water. You can chug this, which is the only reason it didn't get a 1....but why would you want to?!?!?! Maybe my girlfriends dad will drink the rest of the sixer....

I'll unashamedly admit it : I am a fan of Michelob. I like Michelob products and even their "Ultra" offering. I am on a low carb and low yeast diet to dispel a small yeast infection in my gut so I'm stuck with beers like this for a little while.

Appearance : Initially pours a two fingered head, very fluffy and frothy. Within a minute's time the head evaporates into a tiny ring. The body is mostly transparent, and the color of brackish water. Slightly copper, like a glass that has had old pennies sitting in it for a day. Not the best start.

Aroma : It smells mostly like Michelob Ultra with some lightly roasted grain. There's rice, barley, banana, and toasted malt, a caramel sticky-bun sweetness, and very faint grassy hop aroma.

Flavor : The dry, grassy, pasty character comes out immediately - typical Mich Ultra characteristics. Cooked rice, faint caramel, toffee, and a slight nuttiness. These are all in the midst of a rather washed out profile, but its all there.

Mouthfeel : Very fizzy to start, and then washes out a bit and ends slightly parched. I can feel a tender dryness attacking the sides of my mouth as it settles.

Overall : Nobody really goes into detail drinking these things. I mean they're meant as a low carb, low calorie option when necessary and for that reason I really must commend Michelob. Crafts are great until you get some unfortunate events that take away those joys for a little while - and thank God for products like these that still allow me to drink beer once in awhile. Thus the '5' overall.

Oh wow, the best thing about this one was the nicely packaged bottle with a date of 1/26/06. After that – downhill we go. Yep, looks like seltzer water with brown coloring added to it. Absolutely no aroma at all. Very close to tasteless, but I did pick up some pathetic hints of a sweet malt – it may have been artificial flavoring added.

This seltzer water somehow had a 5% abv, it was made to give a buzz to the <active people> w/o having to actually drink anything. Thank God it was a freebie, I can't imagine paying hard earned cash for this crap.

Apearance: Pale copper color, superbly clear, with a small off-white head, slight, slow-rising carbonation, and excellent, glass-coating lace.

Aroma: Toasty malt, with slight tropical fruit, and vegetal notes.

Taste: Opens with a slight toasted malt note, some light fruitiness, followed by a wave of mild bitterness. Finishes with a very slight, lingering bitter note.

Mouth feel: Thin and watery, not much here, with a mild sting of carbonation.

Drinkability/notes: More like a mineral water than a beer, character is lacking.

Presentation: Packaged in a twelve ounce brown glass longneck bottle with a twist-off crown, served in a standard pint tap glass.

My fiancee tried this as well, she indicated that she needed a stout to wash the taste of this beer out of her mouth.
