got this at the local supermarket, just because it is new.

A Pale straw, little to no head - Zero lacing

s: just blank! I was expecting metallic, but really theres nothing to the nose here at all!

T: watery. not much else

D Highly drinkable for sure! good for hydration. Im thinking of this as a low calorie, organic, beverage beer.

There are those times in life when & where curiosity simply gets the better of me. This marked one of those occasions. I forget precisely what led me to a Subs & Six Packs excursion, but it may have been to score this year's Pilsner Urquell lunchboxes. While out there, I always like to scour for anything new, even if it does come in Bottle format. Well, here we are!

From the Bottle: "Superior Light Beer"; "Made with Organic Grains".

I was denied the satisfaction of even a Pop! since this beer came in one of those screwed-up screw-off cap bottles. 8=( I took out my frustration with an aggro C-Line pour, creating a brief finger of fizzy, foamy, soapy, bone-white head with lousy retention. Even an in-glass swirl proved to be futile. 8=( Color was Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5) with 24-karat clarity, prompting an impromptu visit from The Gelt Gang of Midas, Croesus & Mammon. Nose revealed the impurities in this "Pure" since it had the now-familiar tang of fermented corn, like silage in the summer. 8=p Mouthfeel was thin & watery, but actually on-par for this style. The taste was not as pronounced in terms of silage as I got on the nose, but it still tasted of an unwanted & unnecessary adjunct. 8=( I did not expect much from this beer & that is precisely what I got - not much. It was thin, watery, lacking much in the way of taste & just an overall ho-hum. Finish was semi-sweet, but it really lacked any appreciable taste. The only way that I would revisit this is if they decide to put it in a CAN. YMMV.

A: The beer is crystal clear straw yellow in color and has a small column of rising bubbles visible near the center of the glass. It poured with a thin collar of white bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of corn are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has light flavors of corn with a bit of associated sweetness and hints of bready malts.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied, clean and a little smooth on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink and has a nice and clean and smooth mouthfeel. It doesn't have any "off" flavors.

I am a dedicated DIPA drinker but have to lose weight. I decided to give this a go and I must say, that it is way better than I imagined it would be. Definitely worth a try if slimming down and still being able to enjoy a few beers is your goal.

Pours a clear gold color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of pale malt, slight sweet malt, slight corn, and a hint of citrus hops. Fits the style of an American Light Lager. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. There is a slight dryness as well. Tastes of pale malt, slight sweet malt, slight corn, and a hint of citrus hops. Overall, weak appearance, aroma, body, but good blend.

Michelob Ultra Pure Gold has a thick, fizzy, white head, a clear, bubbly golden appearance, and minimal glass lacing. The aroma is of sweet, indistinguishable grains, and the taste is the same. Very clean presentation. Watery mouthfeel, with a crisp finish. Again, very clean.

12 Oz Bottle poured into glass
Look - light golden yellow color, carbonation doesn't look too bad. Not much foam and no lacing whatsoever.
Smell - sort of the buttered rice aroma that you get from Budweiser and it almost smells like corn adjunct even though there isn't any in here. Nothing in the way of hops.
Taste - Well, it hards to really differentiate between this and the regular Michelob Ultra. The organic grains may be a smidge healthier but it really doesn't change the flavor. It's the fizzy sweet marshmallow flavor that I can't understand as to why people would like this taste. It just isn't beer, it's too light and no bitterness.

Overall, it's too carbonated, it's too light, and there is no scenario in which i would want one of these. Several light beers better than this. Grade is a C-

Excellent fresh light flavor. Excellent after or during a hot day. Doesn’t bloat you. Its the best light beer made. If you disagree you don’t know beer.

Darker gold than regular Ultra, but still sparkling clear, with a poofy white head that fizzles out fairly quickly.

The round body is lightly fizzy and tastes of faintly metallic piss and corn. It's less grapey sweet than Ultra, and slightly breadier and soft but thin, coming to a semi-dry finish.

While it has a little more flavor to it than regular Ultra, I think if I had to I'd still choose regular flavorless Ultra. More flavor added to a pretty bad beer simply means more bad flavor.

Pours a pale yellow color with barely any head. Nothing special but not terrible.

Aroma is mainly grains but it’s a bit hoppy too. It doesn’t have the odd corn smell of some light lagers.

Taste is a bit watery but the grains and hops. There’s a bit of bread feeling in the aftertaste. The high carbonation does keep the taste from being overly watery.

Mouthfeel is light, crisp, highly carbonated, and refreshing as hell on this 100 degree day in Oklahoma.

Overall - a good light beer. Inexpensive, and doesn’t cause me to bloat. It’s a step above normal Michelob Ultra for me.

Just picked this up some bottles from Walmart and it's my new favorite light beer.

The color is pale yellow with just a touch of rose. Literally the same color as actual pure gold. Pours a small, short-lived head with minimal lacing.

Smell is clean, lemongrass with a hint of vanilla. Taste is light, as you'd expect, with only faint maltiness and sweetness.

So yeah, if you're looking for something refreshing, this is it. But if you want a light beer that tastes more full-bodied like a regular beer, of course go to Sam Adams Light. I prefer light that tastes like what it is, though.

A more expensive and slightly better in terms of aroma and flavor, adjunct (rice) light lager waving the banner of organic farm products. While it might make some feel better it doesn't improve the product. It pours crystal clear deep straw/pale gold producing several finger of shortlived, white, soap foam head that leaves only a few motes of lacing. Aroma is bready, faint grains and thin grassy hops. Taste is watery cereal and bread with earthy hops, grass and faint lemon in the background. Afrertaste is light bread and grain before it rapidly fades. While some reviewers mention corn the Michelob Ultra Pure Gold on-line malt bill lists only two types of barley and rice. No mention of corn. Mouthfeel is light bodied with moderate carbonation, slightly prickly, watery but clean and dry.

Low carb/abv/calorie beer that tastes great. Not as good as an unfiltered craft wheat beer, but Ultra Gold is my everyday go-to beer to keep my weight down.

25oz (wtf 25 and not 24, weird?) can poured into pint glass. Picked up from the liquor store for about $3 or so. Can has some small dents in it so I hope that didn't damage the interior plastic lining and cause the can to leech into the beer. 11APR21 printed on bottom of can. Presumably that's the best buy date, so this has another 6 months of freshness left in it?

Appearance - Pours very large white head with semi-loose near seafoam consistency. No stick or lacing. Perfectly clear light gold body with slight but consistent bubbling. Head breaks internally somewhat. 4.75

Smell - Dry hay, faint corn. Slight roundness to it though. Very mild and plain. Nothing special but it works for its style and intent. 4

Taste - Thin honey sweetness on some plain water up front infused with the faint essence of dry hay that hits in the back and aftertaste. Which makes it a little lopsided and takes away from its drinkability somewhat. 3.5

Mouthfeel - Weirdly thin and watery. Actually feels more watery than water, somehow. Somehow lacks the fizzy effervescence of regular mich ultra. Possibly its best feature. Big points off for that. 3.5

Overall - Drinkable. A downgrade from the standard michelob ultra. Why pay more for less? Oh, I just read the label... this is just the organic version I guess? No wonder. That explains everything. 3.5

Out of all the light beers I have tried over the years I have got to say that this beer is one of my favorites. The taste is smooth the flavor is mild and the overall drink is refreshing. When I am looking for a light beer this is the one. But if I want a beer with a kick Bud Ice is the one I grab.
