no lacing at all
S - NO METTALIC smell unlike most macros
T nice bite on the tongue, but I am not sure if it's hops or maybe ABV

Another exceptional reserve lager from Budweiser. Pours copper/amber color. Smell is of vanilla, caramel, and some wood?
Taste is sweeter, with some hints of vanilla and oak, definitely not overpowering making this very drinkable for any occasion in my opinion.
Love seeing Budweiser doing their own specialty beers. The series continues to not disappoint :)

I don't know what Jim Beam has to do with this beer, as I can't taste any bourbon. That said, this is pretty damn solid, all things considered. There's a respectable amount of vanilla and spicy rye which mixes nicely with the sweet grains and corn typical of a Budweiser brew.

It's thinner than expected; watery, even. But still has good carbonation.

Highly drinkable with decent flavor. A beer I'd love to hate but can't.

Awful when first cold on intial sips. Like a wet metally pussyfart. Really oepns up and tastes better as it warms. Not a great tasting drink but decent enough for 1 or 2. Cool bottle too.

Definite copper color with a thin skin of caramel brown head that vanishes as one looks at it. I will also throw in on the look these bottles with the artwork on the labels is very cool. The beer looks tasty so lets get on it!

Smell is like roasted malts and some sweet candy maybe like a caramel. Smells are faint and fleeting. One has to really reach for them and hope your nose is not blocked up.

Taste is very amber lager flavored. Getting rich caramel with some roasted malt. A small bit of vanilla. Nice rich sweet flavors.

Mouth is deceptive. With the rich almost heavy candy sweet flavors one would expect a medium mouth. I think the mouth is more on the light side with a bit of a wet finish that leaves some sweet lingering.

Impressive beer from a macro brewery. And also a macro that I usually do not get along with. Budweiser has never been a fan favorite for me and I tend to lean towards the Colorado side for my macro buddy. That being said this beer actually impressed me. For one of the big guys to take the time to brew something that is close to a craft beer is damn impressive. Also this beer should get a shout out for its almost Christmas beer like flavor. Great planning on time of release. If you like ambers or holiday beers this one might fill your glass give it a shot seriously.

Pours a nice clear amber color. Very little lacing. Slightly sweet smell. Sweet taste with caramel notes, and Jim Beam flavor. maybe some vanilla. Lightly hopped. Thin mouthfeel and good carbonation. I'm starting to enjoy these special Budweiser bottles that come out every few months. Although they are not world class beers, they are definitely three steps above regular Budweiser. Try this one out!

For a Bud product it's very good. For all its goodness the beer feels thin and lacking. Not bad however. At 6.2 abv there should be a touch more bite and snap. I'll probably buy another six and revisit this one a few months down the road. A must try at the price.

From a twelve ounce stubby bottle, this brew pours a beautiful burnt-copper color with a thick off-white head. Not a bad looking beer at all. The aroma has a little smoke, vanilla, and grain...continuing into the taste. Sweetness on the tongue. Flavorful finish. Not exceptional, but more interesting and enjoyable than I expected.

Pleasantly surprised by this brew, especially since I highly prefer bitter pilsners to richer amber beers. I even like the bottles lol... well worth a try this holiday season!

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Crystal clear copper pour with 2 fingers of white head. Solid ring of lacing. Looks great.

S: Light malts... sweet grains and faint vanilla.

T/F: Sweet and malty... toasted grains, vanilla, and caramel. Light bodied... not picking up much booze or oak from the Jim Beam. Still a nice red lager. Well made... good carbonation. Clean and crisp.

O: As much as I'd love to hate on this Anheuser-Busch product it's actually a pretty good beer. Not much Jim Beam character, but a good red/copper ale. Well made... clean... one I'd drink again.

Saw the commercial on TV, went to Beer Advocate to see what folks thought, went to my local beer store, and for $6.88 including tax, bought it. This is the first Budweiser beer that I have actually considered adding to my fridge as a go to, too bad it's limited. I'm an IPA mostly beer drinker but I regularly go outside my beer routine because like many others, I've discovered that there are many other styles of beer that I like besides hoppy ones. This is another great find because I took the chance. This beer looks great for starters. Decent head if you pour it right. It's a sweet beer, but not too sweet. Not much hop presence but the balance still seems spot on as it finishes out with a slow but definite dryness. I can see myself drinking this by the pool in the summer because, although not a heavyweight beer, it looks it, and has a decent flavor punch that is not expected from this sort of a lightweight beer. I can detect malt of course, but there is vanilla, caramel, coconut and a very small hint of dark fruit much like raisins or dates. The staves aspect is hardly present. Very surprised and impressed. Hoping to see this become popular enough to go into regular or seasonal(winter/fall) production. Thank you AB for your American patriotism. My dad was a big Budweiser fan as long as it was from the right brewery (water source). At one time the Merrimack river, where we lived, was an actual water source for regular Budweiser. This brewery has some great history that's worth respecting in my opinion.. I thank and honor my dad for making this brew have a certain connection from so many great summers in Downstate Maine. Thank you Dad.

Love the packaging on this puppy...gorgeous snub bottles with twist-off caps and iconic Budweiser labeling.

I had to nab a sixer of this after really enjoying the Freedom Reserve (short take: "It's Yuengling, but better"). Billed as an "American Coper Lager brewed with Two-row Barley and aged on real Jim Beam Bourbon barrel staves." 6.2% ABV.

A bit of a let down after the triumph that was Freedom Reserve. Honeyed sweetness and artificial bourbony notes (vanillin/imitation vanilla extract, artificial toasty flavouring, hints of Delsym) bring this one down, but luckily the artificial bourbon character is so timid it doesn't detract too much from the base beer. Toasted malt, amber malts, and caramel leanings in the malt backbone give this a full body and a bolder taste than most of Budweiser's watery-thin ouvre...sure, it's trying to get both the micro and macro brew demographics with one beer and seems uneven as a result, but it's not bad fare.

Smooth, wet, and crisp, tending a bit higher in terms of carbonation (probably for the frosted mug/"my beer must be ice cold!" drinkers). Could be softer. It's always nice to see Anheuser-Busch brewing beers that have actual body.

The commercial tie-in with Jim Beam is unnecessary - but I don't think any of us actually want a copper lager with assertive bourbon character - but it's obviously just for marketing. The faint faux-bourbon flavour this features just gets in the way of what might have been a solid drinkable lager (like the vastly superior Freedom Reserve), making this a beer I wouldn't buy another sixer of. But I'll enjoy polishing off what's left in the sixer with Mexican food, and if this is the kind of beer we can continue to expect to see in the Budweiser Reserve series, I'll keep picking each one up at ~$8 per sixer.

Give the Big Man his due. Nice beer. Very malt forward, somewhat sweet, reminds me of Octoberfest style. Not much bourbon flavor but that's okay. Easy to session.

Pours a copper color with about a half finger of head. The nose has the essence of wood but I'm not really getting any bourbon. The flavor is pretty flat with a thin body and no discernable bourbon notes. The alcohol flavor notes are closer to grain than bourbon. The finish is nicely dry but that's really the only bright spot tastewise.

Not a bad looking beer at all. A very clear copper/amber with a nice pillowy khaki head that sticks around for a moment. Smell is toasted malts, but there's also come clear nuttiness and biscuit smell on the nose as well. There does seem to be a kiss of unpleasantness on the back of the smell, though I wonder if temperature control was a problem for my 12-oz. stubby brown bottle. I am in the freshness window, if only by about three weeks. Flavor is nice, too, though it's better on its initial visit than as it continues to go down. The caramel and vanilla notes they promise are there, though the base bud adjunct bill is definitely there underneath. Mouthfeel is thick and a little syrupy. Overall, an uneven beer, but a decent offer from the A-B folks.

It is a clear reddish hued copper color. A light cream colored fizzy head disappeared quickly.

It smells like molasses, vanilla, and slightly nutty.

Sweet flavor up front with a bit of a metallic taste. Amber malts are definitely noticeable. Fairly malty with a touch of nuts and toasted bread followed by a vanilla and caramel sweetness. A hint of oak as it lingers.

Body is light and a little airy/prickly. Carbonation is on the higher side. A little bit of a lip smacking stickiness in the finish.

The Beam aspect is a pretty nice complement, but the beer itself just doesn’t have enough substance. Certainly not awful, but I don’t see another purchase in my future.

Dark lovely color excellent taste and smell. Spend the money drink this great offering from AB. This is the reserve collection this is special this does not happen every day. I taste the caramel and for some reason a nutty taste. The copper lager thing just works. Would drink this beer year round if available. Austin TX.

Not a bad brew. Neat to look at and admire the reddish-brownish coloring as it's being poured slow into a lager glass. A not-at-all bad taste that doess't overwhelm expectations; a slight sticky-sweet. Maybe more red ale than lager? An interesting experiment for one's drinking pleasure. Hmmmm, maybe w/a follow-up shot of Jim Beam would improve the outcome?
