Very pleasant nitro lager. Has a good head, 2 fingers when poured. Notes of grassy hops, caramel, and malt. Well balanced, very smooth and pleasant. Reminds me of Boddington's Pub Ale in many ways. For me the best thing other than Michelob to come out of St. Louis. A very nice sessionable lager. Nice thirst quencher when hot. No offensive qualities of any kind. Hope this beer stays in the line permanently. I give this 3.5 as a rating. And yes, I bought more.

Nice twist! I didn’t think it possible to put nitro in a can without that annoying rubber ball, but Budweiser did it! The foam is just awesome! I just wish the underlying beer was better. It’s good, but not great. Still, share this nitro process with all breweries! This is an awesome technology!

A very decent offering from A-B. Pours a rather nice looking amber color. The smell is malty, with subtle breadiness. Taste is subtle, with a hint of nitro. I hope this beer sticks around because it truly is a winning product.

Budweiser Nitro Reserve Gold has a medium, nitro-style off-white head, a clear, bubbly, amber appearance, with minimal lacing. The aroma is of barley grain, and the flavor is similar, with some bitterness and some sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium, and Budweiser Nitro Reserve Gold finishes crisp.

Like previously mentioned in other reviews it is a lot like Boddington's. That is not a bad thing. I was surprised to find it today and even happier to have had it, I like this one.

Well well well what do we have here? I know Boddington's Pub Export still is sold by AB, though BA has recently changed this beer to 'retired' though I get fresh cans all the time in my market, is this perhaps AB's replacement to the move expensive Boddington's?

Pours a delightful rich amber-gold color with about 2 fingers nitro lacing on the top of the beer.

Like Boddington's Pub Export you're not going to smell a lot, outside of a residual dissipation of nitrogen and a slight creamy beer smell.

As for the taste, it is an unsweet Boddingonton's with more rice adjuncts in the finish. You're met with a smooth mouthfeel, a bit of sweetness, and a rich clean malt on the back end with a kiss of hops. This is very very very good.

Appearance—golden, bubbly, clear; creamy eggshell head that retains well and leaves lovely lacing.

The aroma is faint, but is creamy and reminds me a great deal of Boddington’s Pub Ale, because it offers a slightly banana character, but the banana here is not as pronounced as it is in Boddington’s.

The taste is quite mild. There’s creaminess, but not really any banana as with the aroma. The malt/grain presence is highly subdued, which leaves it lacking. Yet, there is a lovely fruity, but not bitter, hop character throughout.

The mouthfeel and finish are both creamy and medium-full.

Best by date of August 13th 2020.

Pours a clear gold with, initially, a 2 finger head of foam. Didn't pour like a nitro even after tilting the can 3 times. Oh well.

Smells pretty darned malty, being an all malt Lager, I was still somewhat surprised that it did that. Caramel with a touch of grass is how I would describe the overall aroma.

The taste is pretty good. Malt and grassy hops working well together. Earthy malt in the finish, more of a toasted malt through most of each sip.
The grassy hops interject enough to prevent a one sided sweetness.

The body is less than admirable in my book; isn't a prime purpose of nitro beers to produce a silky smooth mouthfeel? It feels thin to me. Very light carbonation...

Good overall. Reminds me more than a little of Boddingtons Pub Ale, which I will admit I dig with no regrets.

Try 1 if you can.

Clear orange with one finger of cream color head. Splotches of lace as the level drops.
Smells like malts with herbal grassy hop note.
Tastes a lot like regular Bud. Malty sweet grassy herbal hops.
Mouthfeel is medium well carbonated and ultra smooth and creamy.
Overall a very tasty AB product. Best by 27 Jul 20.
