No more ales and rich lagers for me, just found out that I'm type 2 diabetic. So, I was apprehensive when I tried this for the first time last night. It is very drinkable if you avoid smelling it along the way. I thought it was fairly smooth, but yeah it doesn't have a whole lot of flavor and that is OK. At 6.0 abv and only 4.4 carbs per it is a diabetics dream come true. You can have 5 of these and still not take in as many carbs as a medium sized banana. My palette will adjust in time and will get used to the smell and less taste. Cheers !

Look: clear, golden colored beer with a tiny bit of white head
Smell: very faint, if anything... what's there smells a little like vodka
Taste: the only thing going for it here is that it's so weak, you can't tell it's terrible. faint notes of corn and alcohol.
Feel: pretty easy to drink, if getting drunk fast is what you're going for

Overall: Not good. Not at all... but it's cheap, light, and 6% alcohol, so if I'm missing college again I'll probably buy more of it anyway.

Tried for the first time as a palate cleanser. Had no idea the ABV was 6%.

Honestly, it's pretty good for what it is. It has a nice crisp, clean flavor that's very light despite the higher ABV. I could easily pound a few of these at a get-together.

For an AAL, this absolutely holds up.

This is the first light beer I've ever had that has a good old fashioned full bodied beer taste. No bitterness or lack of flavor. Some may question its color, I go with flavor. This is a great beer.

This tastes like Bud Light with half a jigger of vodka added. How can a beer that is only 6% taste alcoholic...but it does! Otherwise well made. No off flavors, just very little ANY flavors.

left in my fridge by a former friend...hot night and wanted something light, but didn't have anything good...so i saw this and #crookedhillary is on the TV. perfect! i can celebrate her with a crap beer. very light, little flavor, even on a hot night, i need something less watery. i even kept the AC off to make it taste better.... it didn't. but got to tell you, i have had a few drain pours (DFH higher math is one); this isn't one...

Pale yellow and very clear color. Very light malty flavor but really pretty bland. Best thing to say about it is that it is refreshing on a hot day, but then again so is water. Not great but nothing really unpleasant about it either. Basically Bud light with some extra booze.

Tastes like Bud Light with more alcohol and less of that beechwood thing. And less Barley, if there is even any barley in this. There is no grain flavor whatsoever, and the alcohol has an aroma similar to rubbing alcohol. Avoid.

Clear, ginger ale like appearance, large bubbles rising from glass base, minimal cap.

Clean, fresh slightly spicy aroma with a background of sweet yeast.

Taste is surprisingly good for a Light style lager, particularly in view of the fact some have so little. Entry gives the sense of a pleasant brew that doesn't present any challenges, rather an inviting offer to drink more. Little in the way of the light spiciness in the aroma (ginger ale is spicer) yet it's unmistakenly beer. If nothing else the 6% ABV reinforces that impression. The primary flavor I get is one of sweet bread with a edges rounded off by carbonation. Hops are present in the aroma but not really noticeable in the body or aftertaste. Well, not to me anyway but I'm accustomed to stronger beers.

A bit past medium body. The grain bill I suppose accounts for that though it could be corn syrup for all I know.

Yes, this is lager writ small but lower case doesn't diminish it's pleasing aspects. Designed without bitterness for those who don't want that. I don't make rules for others and don't live by other's rules.

The first whiff from the bottle is walking past a closed bar that must have been busy last night. It pours well in fizzy light beer kind of way then settles down to appear like an old time tap beer in the short glass that accompanied grandpa's shot. It has no real taste or should I say FLAVOR. Caribe styled ginger beer has flavor, lemon ice has flavor. none here. I guess the brewers said to themselves we will offend no one with the taste of this beer. I'm looking forward to pairing this with barbecued foods on hot Florida afternoon. It won't even overcome the potato salad! Blue bottles I mean... There are worse beers out there. I guess this beer has, forgive me, personality?

Of course this is not a poor beer when it comes to American Light Lagers. 6.0% ABV and still light as far as taste. Beer snobs hate this and Busch Signature. Both are good beers for high alcohol American style beers. Certainly better than Malt Liquor. I'd give the edge to Busch for a better taste. But BLP is not bad and has more alcohol. People need to take their nose out of their own asses. This is a solid beer.

The primary qualities of Bud Light Platinum (BLP) are the sweet blue bottle and the malt liquor kick. If I were 15 again I would be buying (obtaining) this over Icehouse and Mickey's, for sure. I don't know if they sell BLP in a 40 oz., but if they did this would be one of the most drinkable desirable 40 oz on the market. Did I mention the ABV is 6%? I know, many a fancy craft beer can reach that kind of fumeage, but can they do so with the consistency of water and digestabilty? Answer: no. Will BLP be around in 15 years? Probably not. But can you open one and enjoy the party? The answers is yes, my friend. Yes.

Bud Light Platinum was a bit of a surprise to me. It pours like your regular adjunct lager. Slightly frothy head, half a finger tall. Smells like Bud Light, but with more alcohol (which is exactly what it is). It's a corny adjunct taste. Goes down like water, burns a little afterward. The feel is as if water, Bud Light and a really really light liquor had a child. Not super impressed, but it is after all, Bud Light.
Do note that I had this right after I finished a bottle of Guinness Extra Stout, so I suppose the review is a little skewed, but I tried to be fair to the poor light lager. Not offensive, but not wonderful either.

Golden look. Light bubbles, one inch head. Smells vaguely of stewed vegetables with sweet notes. Tastes sweet and a hint of broth taste within. Feels smooth going down, slight liquor feel afterwards. Overall, a good beer to get drunk with, but not something you would want to drink unless you just need a palate cleanser.

Pours like bud light, looks all weak and shit. Aroma of alcohol on a thin body.

Taste was not offensive, it was just missing, a little corn sweetness. Not really any hopping to speak of. This is just a bigger alcohol delivery vessel for Bud light.

This is truly one of the best "light" beers I've ever had. Sleemen Light being in close second. Not to mention this is a very, very, very smooth beer. Goes down like water. It's a light beer taste with a strong beer kick (6%). The only downside is the price. But it's worth it.

This is a great party beer, goes down like water, has a decent alcohol content, and doesn't taste too bad either. Has a light straw color with a lot of carbonation and is relatively smooth.

Poured from a 12oz (bottled 26Jun15) into a pilsner glass.
LOOK: Pours with two finger's worth of white foam that dissipates into a quarter finger's worth after 2 minutes and 15 seconds. Once the foam head settles, there is still a plethora of medium-sized bubbles that are ascending towards the top. Straw yellow in color. Lacing is thin and subtle.
SMELL: Mild aromas of sugar water and neutral scented hand soap clash with subtle aromas of car exhaust, spicy hops, and grass along with hints of corn.
TASTE: Initial taste is of mild sugar water flavors that are immediately followed by subtle corn flavors. Subtle flavors of spicy hops, floral hops, and hints of bready malts eneter lastly as both initial flavors persist in strength.
FEEL: Light-bodied and moderately carbonated. Goes down somewhat smooth. Finishes with a subtle dryness that makes you want to drink more until you realize you're drinking garbage and then proceed to grab yourself a nice Dortmunder or Kellerbier.

Not a good beer, but reviewers giving this 1s across the board are idiots. 1 for look? 1 for mouthfeel? Idiots.
This beer is half bud light and half malt liquor. Nose and taste are all acceptable by AAL standards. If you are looking for a lawnmowing beer with a little higher ABV, this is a better bet than a 40 of King Cobra.

An attempt to make bud light better. I think they succeeded. This beer was not bad. I would select it over bud light. If someone handed it to me, I would accept.

12 oz. bottle into a pint glass

A - White frothy head that foams up easily, even with a moderately soft pour. Head dissipates very quickly. Very highly carbonated. Fast rising carbonation easily visible. Beer is clear and pale straw in color. Sides of glass are coated with carbonation bubbles. 3/5

S - Sweet malty aroma is the main note that I am getting followed by some rice. Smells very clean. Not much else going on in this department. 3/5

T - Rice and white bread are the main tasting notes to this beer. Reminds me of rice chex. Sweetness overrides any bitterness to this beer. Slight metallic aftertaste. Cannot pick out any hops in the flavor profile. 2.5/5

M - Very highly carbonated which results in a carbonation burn and tickle on the tongue. 3/5

O - Good beer for a hot day. Best served very cold. Beer opens up a bit when in a glass as compared to straight from the bottle in terms of both flavor and aroma. 2.75/5

Can from Albertsons. Drinking this for an Untappd badge, period. Not expecting much. Normal pale lager look and feel, nose a bit maltier than the norm. Taste is sweet grain and adjuncts, not bad, mouth feel is fairly slick. Very drinkable, not much in flavor, but overall decent.

Bud Light Platinum.

I have probably drank at least five thousand of these things by the time I joined this site mid-way through my college years in 2012. My review was quite dickish and I sounded straight up snobby. SO.. 401 beers later I am ready to give this stuff a fair shake. Mind you, only at 401 because I took a two year hiatus ;).

Look - Ever so slight dark tint of golden yellow with a finger of white head that goes away so quickly if you blink you'll completely miss it. Not a single aspect of the head sticks around, so no lacing shall be present. Carbonation certainly looks high. 2.

Smell - A huge punch in the face of creamed corn and rice adjuncts. Cooked vegetables. Yep, it's an AAL alright. 2.5.

Taste - Y'know what, I'm going to be devils advocate here and say it really isn't THAT bad for what it is. Crisp and highly refreshing. Grassy notes all throughout with a pleasant creamed corn aspect. This one is actually quite smooth. 3.25

Feel - Very watery body with enough carbonation to set off a volcanic eruption. Seriously, the carbonation is as high as astronaught pussy. Nothing more to say here. 2.

Overall - If you ignore everything the average beer drinker doesn't care about ( Look, smell, and feel) you come up with an AAL that hits its niche. This truly is far from the worst thing I've ever had, and it is actually quite...pleasant...for its category. Yeah. So give it a shake for what it is and don't aimlessly bash it because it is the brew of choice for 70% of ' beer ' drinkers. Makes for a fine palate washer too. So..ignoring the aspects the average redneck pays no attention to...hold on. Remember, this is meant to be a low flavor, ' high to the average Joe ' alcohol beer that causes regrettable decisions, fist fights, good times, and gets college dudes laid. Anyway, 3.25

Absolutely the worst tasting beer ever. It's also got a strange syrup like mouthfeel which doesn't pair well with the fact that it is supposed to be light. There's nothing premium or platinum here...

I prefer Bud Light to this "Platinum" offering. That about says it all.

Using the Begnel formula, the Alcohol Score is 12 oz. x 6.0% = 72, or 1.4 Bud Lights.
