A - Pale yellow as expected. Light head.

S - Very sweet smell. Strongly hints at the flavor to come.

T - Lasting, saccharin sweetness. Not good. No flavors really. Just sweet.

M - Pretty good carbonation. Nothing unexpected there. The sweetness of it almost makes it feel a little sticky though.

O - Really awful. I imagine their thought process being, "Oh crap, you can almost taste the alcohol. We better make it overpoweringly sweet to hide that." If given the choice between this and bud light, I'll take the bud light. Actually, I can't think of anything I would choose this over (except maybe Wild Blue). Unless you're just looking to get drunk with a few less bottles, don't waste your money on this one.

A - Fizzy as all hell, but in the way a soda is fizzy. Big carbonation bubbles pour up audibly and make a tiny wisp of a head that dissipates in seconds. Ten seconds after pour there is no head, and the beer looks like a yellow piss soda pop.

S - Like bud light but with a lot more corny sweetness. Very faint malt character and zero hop presence. This is like a beer soda.

T - Tastes extremely sweet, with a finish like buttered corn-on-the-cob, which is a bit surprising considering AB's adjunct of choice being rice. There is even a tiny bit of ethanol, which I've never experienced in a 6% beer. Some hints of actual malt in here, with a very faint caramel flavor present.

M - Light body with some stickiness. Carbonated like a glass of Sprite. Really overstays its welcome by coating the palate so completely.

O - Overall this is terrible. Budweiser is a thousand times better, and Bud Light is even preferable. In fact, I'd take a Bud Light Lime over this garbage. The beer loses that "Crisp clean" aroma and taste that cheap adjunct lagers depend on, which makes the beers immensely less refreshing, which is supposed to be its top selling point.

Poured from a blue bottle into a pint glass.

Beer pours a straw yellow color with a bit of fizzy head.

Beer has no great smells. Mainly of corn.

Beer tastes very sweet. Tons of more flavor than Bud Light, which isn't saying much. Very strong corn taste.

Mouthfeel is thin and heavy carbonated.

Much better than Bud Light, I could see getting this from time to time instead of a Coors Light or similar.

Well i went into my lq store today to grab a 6 pack of random beers i have yet to try. I noticed they had bud light platinum so i grabbed one. The best thing about this beer is the cool blue bottle it comes in.

A- Light
T- Bud Light with more flavor
S- Non existent
O- Good replacement for bud light at a party at 6.0% alc

Bud Light Platinum has a thick white head and a clear, straw appearance with few streaming bubbles, but a decent amount of lacing. The aroma is a combination of alcohol, sweetness, husks, and grain, and the taste is richly sweet (cloying), grainy, of rice, sharp, and fairly bold, with a touch of hop bitterness at the back end of the sip. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Bud Light Platinum finishes pretty crisp, clean, refreshing, and easy drinking. I think A-B/InBev may have struck gold with this one (or , should I say platinum). It’s a winner, and it’s head and shoulders above the dull and flaccid Bud Light. I think we’ll be hearing a lot about this one!

A - Clear straw yellow in color. Head is white and soapy. Its gone fast. No lacing.

S - Light corn malts and metal.

T - Like lemon flavor sparkling water with alcohol added. Very tasteless.

M - Good mouth feel. Goes down smooth and has a decent crispness to it. This seems to be about right.

O - This one seems more flavor less than the regular for some reason. This is too easy drinking.

Appearance: light yellow, no head.

Smell: Sweet malt, corn.

taste: Sweet malt liquor.

Mouthfeel: Thin and watery, has an ok carbonated stinginess.

Malt liquor has an extremely offensive taste to me. This beer has a mild malt liquor taste. If it were a malt liquor, it would be the best I've ever had. I've had a lot worse beers, but this is still bad. For a cheap 6.0 abv beer, this isn't too horrible.

Served in a clear, bright blue bottle and poured into a standard pint glass.

Appearance: Very pale golden color with a bubbly white head that fades pretty quick.

Smell: The smell is somewhat sweet with hints of fruit and grains.

Taste: The taste, similar to it's smell, is sweet and the fruit stands out a bit more, but it isn't overwhelming by any means. Very light, and no bitterness to speak of. I wouldn't guess it had 6% alcohol had I not known before hand.

Mouthfeel: Very smooth and light in body. I like the carbonation and it's easy to drink.

Overall: Not my favorite, but it is definitely something I can see myself drinking on the back porch with a few friends in the future. It has a decent flavor and packs a solid punch for a light beer.

Open mind. Check.

Open bottle. Check.

Let’s begin… From the cobalt blue bottle a shockingly clear, vaguely golden hued beer is unleashed. A skimpy white froth crowns the fluid only for mere moments before dissipating into a soapy collar. This is not a blonde beauty. I have not consumed a Bud Light since 1999 so I don’t know if this is darker or lighter than the regular BL. It looks like lousy American domestic beer. Mission accomplished.

The nose is sweet, grainy with a sour aroma followed by a kiss of berry fruit and apple. Not much depth in the aroma, I fail to detect any suggestion of hops. Miller Lite and Coors Light smell better than BLP. In fact, BLP has a faint “malt liquor” vibe… must be the robust 6% abv. Yep, that’s it.

Upfront the palate is sweet but quickly dissipates into nothing and finishes with a rough graininess. Post swallow is a mess of grain, berry fruit, annoying sweetness and sour maltiness. The alcohol is completely hidden. BLP fits the bill for a Light Beer… it does have flavor (take that Coors Light) but it is out of balance. If BLP was ‘triple hops brewed’ it might taste a bit better. The flavor profile is out of whack.

The mouthfeel is better than I was expecting. The carbonation is not rough either. I’d call it medium-light in body. No snarky comments here, the mouthfeel is fine.

Drinkablity, for me, is zero. I will never drink this beer again. If I was a Light Beer aficionado I’d probably be all over BLP. The average Joey Suitcase thinks 6% ABV is robust. It’s not, Sally. Overall, BLP is a novelty and two years from now this beer will be no more than a memory a la Anheuser World Select. Remember that dandy? BLP is forgettable and while not terrible it is… um… what was I talking about?

OK, I got a sample of this from one of the bud distributors that I know. I had very low expectations of this beer and don't really think I drank this beer as it is intended to be. I had a half a bottle and not two or three.

A: A very light straw colour.
S: A slight sourness that I consider to be normal for American Light Lagers.
T: This is where it get interesting. I found that it tasted like Coors light but with a better aftertaste. It had a little bit of sweetness. It may taste like Bud light but I don't think I've ever had bud light on a sober palette. The alcohol was hidden well.
M: Moderately carbonated, like drinking water.
O: This beer was better than I expected and I think that it'll pull some Miller Light, Coors Light, and Molson XXX drinkers to bud.

Pours brilliantly clear, extremely pale yellow. the head is a slight soapy sheen.

Aroma is pale malt, relatively sweet with a slight oxidized sourness.

Taste is more of the pale malt from the nose. A slight grape skin quality that is hard to describe. Finishes extremely clean and smooth.

Mouthfeel is light bodied.

overall, a very smooth lager that is extremely easy to drink. I would never seek this style out, but in fairness there are no offensive or off flavors.

Poured very very light yellow with a touch of white head, lots of carbonation.

The smell has a very light cereal quality and not much else.

The flavor is a touch sweeter than most light beers. Has a strange medicinal finish. No real hops to speak of.

The mouthfeel is light and watery with god carbonation.

Has a touch going on more than most light beers, not terrible, has a bit of an odd finish. They really succeeded at making a strong beer with almost no beer flavor.

A- Pours a light golden, little white head. No head retention but actually a little lacing.

S- Not getting a lot on the nose. Maybe a little graininess.

T- Sweet adjuncts but not overwhelmingly. Wouldn't guess it at 6%...could throw off BMC drinkers, lookout DUIs.

M- Thin mouthfeel, similarly carbonated to Bud Light.

D/O- Drinkable, but I don't think its going to stick around long. I can hear it now: "Hey look a new Bud Light. I'm going to try it." One and done. It's similar enough that some Bud drinkers may take a liking to it but not enough to have it stay around more than a year or two.

They were selling single bottles at my local liquor store and I could not resist.

Seems like a conflict of interest to me. A light beer with a high alcohol content.

Bud Light is the most popular beer in the world, so I can not blame AB for trying to cash in on the name and offering amother Bud Light product.

Bud Light Platinum comes in a blue bottle. The white head disapeared almost instantly. Highly carbonated when first poured into my glass, but after a while the bubbles get smaller and the mouthfeel becomes more watery.

This is a very light beer in color. A very pale golden color.

It has a faint, fruity smell.

It has a mild slightly sweet taste with no bitterness.

Very easy to drink. Tastes like a light beer and drinks like a light beer.

Glad I tried it but would not buy again.

This is a party beer or a social lubricant when you want to get drunk or someone else drunk quickly.

I got this sample from a buddy that works for A-B. I think the release date is to be Jan.30 of 2012.

Comes in a blue bottle. The bottle and labeling were quite nice. Anyway, poured to about a one inch head. Head didnt hang around very long. Not much lacing, if any. Very white in color. Brew itself was a very light pale yellow. Smelled very light. Just notes of sweetness. Maybe a little fruity. Tasted a little on the sweet side. Also notes of fruit. Maybe apple. Actually tasted good. This brew is suppose to be 6%. No alcohol could be detected. Felt good in the mouth. I thought the carbonation was about right. Ill buy a sixer when this brew hits the stores. Id love to drink a sixer to see if its actually 6%.

Huge thanks to Alucard4 for getting me this dime piece before the public even had a chance to purchase it all up

Look: golden yellow in color with a 1/4 inch head no retention and spotty lacing and lots of carbonation

Smell: grass pale malt and not much else

Taste: Is much of the same as the nose. Starts out with a wonderful boring pale malt flavor backed up by some straw notes. The whopping 6% is not noticeable at all

Mouthfeel. Thin body ample carbonation

Overall: This is slightly better than bud light but still not really worth drinking
