Yeah it's an A-B product, but let's set that aside for now. This is a great stab at cloning Caffrey's, and a nice alternative as it's no longer available in the US. It appears to be thinner due to it's non-nitro pour, however the same mild coarse-feel and saccharine-like fruity sweetness is there.

A very easy drinking session beer, and one of A-B's best products to date IMO.

Presentation: 12 oz brown twist with a gold and green clad label, "Born On Date" in the neck label.

Appearance: Bright and clear reddish hued amber, creamy looking lace leaves some web like lace most of the way down the glass. After a hard pour there comes a well formed head.

Smell: Mild caramel within the malt sweetness with the slightest hint of alcohol and fruitiness in the aroma.

Taste: Solid medium body with an exceptionally smooth mouth feel, almost silky. Light crispness from the carbonation, malt flavour is a touch thin though still holds its ground. Hops give a quick and sharp tingling bitterness, clean and refreshing bitterness. Swift touch of alcohol on the tongue. Lean toasted malt and caramel show that this beer does have character and leaves a faded steely caramel malt and toasted grain astringency in the quickly drying finish.

Notes: Not bad at all certainly a better rendition of the usual red lagers that most big breweries churn out. You have to wonder what this is like on nitro. Some character is left after it went through the rigorous macro-brewing boot camp.

Dissapointing interpretation of an Irish red.

Light red color, medium head. Light taste, some malts, and slight hops. Light body. Somewhat typical of American mass produced beers, the flavor is turned down of this beer. What's there is good, but there is just not enough of it. Good balance of hops and malts. Malts are slightly sweet. Mouthfeel is a little over carbonated and a little thin. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. Not a lot of flavor, what is there is very good, but it needs to be a little more intense.

You can drink it, which is more than I can say for most A-B products. The local sports bar sells it for $4 a pitcher which seems to improve the flavor (especially when my team is losing). Nothing to write home about.

On par with Coor's Killians Red. Light, but decent malt taste, but lacks in the finish. Obviously there are much better reds/ambers out there. I don't see this in the stores much anymore. I bet it doesn't sell well.

I would say the best from the Anheuser-Busch line of brews. Easy to drink, not really made to swish around your mouth and taste test it, yah know. Clearly meant for consumption. Very crisp brew, and easy to drink. Not to shabby...

Did not totally suck, but was not real good either. One of those fringe beers that, in a pinch, is better then a regular Bud or Coors, but nothing special.

A-B, have they no pride with this name. It might as well be called Killians-arny.

Slightly sweet version of American lager. Decent head. No hop character to speak of. Better than a Bud, of course, but not much there to appreaciate.

I had this one at the A-B hospitality room in Sea World in San Antonio, Texas. This beer did not taste good. It is bitter (in a bad way) and has almost no body at all. Over-carbonated. I expected a little more for it being their hospitality room and all. You know it must have been fresh. It seems like they put this beer into production without making sure the product tasted good. I would avoid this beer in the future.

The beer evacuates the 12-ounce bottle an orange-red color with a smallish off white frothy head and a thin covering of lace upon the glass. Nose is sweet malt, crisp and fresh to the senses, start is slightly sweet with a thin grain profile, top is light in feel to the palate. Finish is acidic to the max, hops pleasant enough and the aftertaste dry and lingering, I can truthfully say this is at least drinkable as is the Michelob line

I'm not sure if I got an old bottle (probably so), but it has some considerable "floaties" in it. Appearance is coppery with light colored golden flakes floating around. The aroma is the best part about this beer. It smells a little like Redbridge, and tastes a little bit the same too. AB apparently gave up on putting hops in beer. I kind of like the maltiness flavor, but it is certainly an odd beer coming from AB. I usually expect good clarity and no flavor from them.
It had not much of a head, and no lacing.
I wouldn't go out of my way to find this one!

Anheuser Busch's attempt at another bad Irish Red. As if Killians wasn't bad enough. Its weaker in every aspects of the beer than their afformentioned counterpart. A weak malt aroma shows a little potential with all barley, hops, and a little breadiness and caramel. Appearance falls way short--caught somewhere between an APA and a dark straw color. Carbonation and head retention never showed up. Flavors are similar to aromas, but water terribly toward the end, causing near nautiosness. An astringent grain husk flavor combined with moderate hopping causes a harsh, but quick finish.

So when I was 21 I thought this was the bomb, along with Killians haha. I thought it was a microbrew like Guinness. I grew up in North Alabam..what can I say? Poured a dark red/amber, little carbonation and a ose that did not impress me. Drinkability avrage as it is still one of the better AB produts.

From the notes of and actual original 1000 beer bottle collection of beerandraiderfan that has been getting blown up on Beer Mountain.

Light red appearance, no head, lace, retention. Sweet aroma, lacking hops, didn't smell like usual red ales and the irish moss nonsense.

Taste, again, sweetness, this one may still use corn and have some artificial coloring going for it for all I know. Still no hop presence, very light body. Always get nervous when there is a bitter aftertaste, but no appreciable hop character.
