Poured from bottle into a pint glass

Appearance – The beer pours a golden amber color with a tiny white head. The head fades very fast leaving almost no lacing on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma is heaviest of a caramel smell with some lighter notes of toffee and bread. Mixed with these aromas are some very light notes of an almost candy nature as well as some light citrus hop smells.

Taste – The taste begins mostly bready with hints of caramel and a citrus hop. As the taste advances more hop of a grapefruit nature come to the tongue as well as some flavors of a light corny taste. In the end a mix of malt with a light sweetness of caramel and corn and a citrus bitterness sit to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer was on the very average side in terms of both its carbonation and thickness. Both are rather appropriate for the style was well as the flavor profile, keeping it drinkable and more refreshing.

Overall –For the price it is a fairly good brew. The flavor at the end is a tad off with the mix of a somewhat corn and bittered citrus taste, but overall its easy drinking and rather refreshing.

Appearance: clear, golden, bone white head, svelt lacing.

Aroma: sweet, pale malts, corn sweetness, grainy, no hop nose.

Taste: sweet cream corn, malt, nutty, herb hints.

***Regardless of being an AB beer or not, this is not very stylistically accurate. Too much sweetness, no hop profile, no balance, forgettable body. Forgettable in general.

From a bottle...poured in La Trappe small tulip glass.
Pours a straw yellow with large head.
Aroma of straw, light honey, slight fig and bandaid.
Modest carbonation and mouthfeel.
Flavors of light amber malt, watery minerals, slight corn sweetness, slight oatmeal, very light hops and soap water. While I don't drink many pilsners, I know a good bit of the style and have been drinking Pilsner Urquell since the early 1980s (not that that is a great example). Perhaps Victory Prima Pils could be said to have a touch too much hops for the style, but this brew is lacking in a bright flavor, hops in general, and even enough malts. While there's some sweetness, the brew is overall off from the style, missing the spritzy or spicy hops, missing any level of graininess, and with little malted barley. Though only a 12 ounce bottle, and while I will finish it, it's neither satisfying no to style.

poored clearish yellow. one inch head that settled quickly steady carbonation. light lacing down the glass.

this is a decent drinking beer from one of the majors. not quite as bold as i had hoped but more of what i expected. you can taste the malts and they are full. lacks a bit in the hops for me but i am a hop head and always want more.

aftertaste was of the spent malts. a little rich for the thirst quencher a bit light for the fireside.

suckem up and movem out!

I like this one. I don't really like Pilsners on the whole, something about them is off-putting on the finish. Budweiser to me has a really...pronounced taste that kinda ruins the palate on the finish. This, on the other hand, has the same sort of pronounced taste...but balanced out (probably with the hop), a nice body with a crisp clean finish.

As far as this company is concerned, they should be selling this stuff instead. This beats their king.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a 14 oz "pint" glass. Pours a translucent yellow with a nice white head that dissipates fairly quickly, but leaves some nice lacing. Smells of light grain but nothing too strong or complex, but sweet. Tastes of sweet grain and water, not too complex, but very refreshing. Beer is carbonated nicely, but a tad too much, very light bodied, and goes down very smooth. Overall, an average beer.

Pours like a Bud. Head like a Bud. Carbonation like a Bud. Smells like a Bud.

Tastes... like a slightly better Bud. I can see sessioning this if it came in it's own case, and you were stuck at a family get-together where the beer guy in charge ended up buying this thinking it was a great idea. I've grown up on Bud so I can tolerate it.

As the sips go on, I can get a little bit more of a legitimate Pilsner taste out of it. More sweetness and flavor. Oh well. Next.

This pours a clear, light amber color with a fast diminishing head. There is a slight grain scent. The taste is crisp, clean, and refreshing. Its taste is fairly simple that leaves a slight grainy after taste with some hints of lemon zest. Just something new from Anheuser-Busch that really isn't all that new.

Budweiser Batch No. 63118 has a thick, creamy, off-white head, lot of thin lacing left on the glass, a clear, reddish-gold appearance, and a good amount of streaming bubbles in the beer. The aroma is subdued, but one can detect light, sweet grains and fruit (think of apricot). The taste is also very fruity (one wonders if fruit is not, in fact, added to the beer), with white bread crust, sweet grain, light brown sugar, and a slight hop bite at the end. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Budweiser Batch No. 63118 finishes crisp, refreshing, and not too dry. Drinkability is high with this one, and not much alcohol is detected, except in the back of the throat after a few sips. Overall, this is another interesting offering from InBev. Check it out!

No matter how AB tries to sell this project 12, these beers are still Budweiser beers.
63118 is a heavier and more flavorful version of Bud.
Tastes like a cheap beer.
It is not foul or anything, just a poor attempt at a German Pilsner.
Unless you are a big fan of Budweiser, you will most likely be disapointed.
Not worth seeking out.

Part of a variety 12-pack -

Pours a deep golden with a thin white head that soon collapses. Minimal lacing sticks.

The smell of noble hops greets the nose, with caramel and honey.

The taste is of sweet honey and caramel mixed with herbal bitterness that seems a bit raw. It has a mild, dryish finish.

It has an odd syrupy character to it that doesn't quite fit the light to medium body. Still, it does have a certain smoothness to it. The finish is on the abrupt side.

It has an "interesting" aroma and taste, but doesn't have the refreshing crisp character of a pils. It seems like an amateur attempt that doesn't quite miss the mark. It's not terrible, it's just not "good".

Pours a deep gold with a half inch cream head that dissipates into a foamy top layer with rimmed lacing.

Light caramel malt, grain, nutty toasted breadcrust, form the aroma. Not getting much pilsner. Floral hops surface as the smoke in the room clears.

Flavor reveals a slightly fruity ester background, with grainy malt. There's a bit of a cracker-malt finish, but there's some sweetness, reminiscent of adjuncts.

Body is moderate, with moderate carbonation and light alcohol warmth.

Overall, an odd combination of flavors that misses the mark on a pilsner. Too many adjuncts and off flavors, impure hops to capture the goal.

Poured into pils glass.
At first the aroma was a standard Am. lager yeast with a bit of sourness, then it moved to more like a German pils with a soft fragrance of the hops and a slight sweet water quality.
Attractive. Brilliantly clear. A darker gold. Nice slighly off-white head.
Flavor is closer to a German pils than a Am. Standard lager. Nice hop flavors. Sweet malt character with a little bit of caramel. Mild bitterness. Drying on the finish.
Lighter body, but within reason. Prickly and ample carbonation. Enough alcohol for a little warmth to show up once consumed.
This isn't half bad. If priced like the regular bud this could make a nice summertime drink.

Thanks Spunky.

A - Pours light yellow with a one finger head. No lacing.

S - Corn adjunct, slight maltiness.

T - Corn adjunct, slight malt, slight rice.

M - Medium bodied with heavy carbonation.

O - Overall, all of these project 12 beers were garbage. Oh well, no surprise.

Deep clear golden color with a very modest white head. No lacings.
Smell is green apple, some floral aspect.
Taste is sweet puckering apple juicey with a mild euro hop back. The Malt Liquorish too sweet too boozy is not what I expect from a Pils. Not a bad beer but just too sweet for me.
Mouthfeel was pretty good for the style.
Overall an interesting venture from A-B. I think they chickened out on the hops and added some sweetening of some sort. A Malt Liquor Pils for sure.

A: Pours a clear straw yellow with a compact white head.

S: Aromas of straw, biscuit, crackers, lemon, and grass are present on the nose.

T: Lacking in complexity, much like the nose. Notes of minerals, lime, lemon, straw, grass, biscuits, and crackers are fleeting. The finish is short and crisp with slight citrus and grass notes apparent.

M: Light-to-medium in body, dryish, and fairly crisp. Carbonation is adequate, but is a little underpowered for the style.

O: Not bad, but not great. It is what it is. I doubt I would seek this one out again.

Pours a clear, gold color. 1/2 inch head of a white color. Good retention and slight lacing. Smells of hops, sweet malt, pale malt, and sugary sweetness. Fits the style of a German Pilsner. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of pale malt, sweet malt, slight hop, adjunct, and hint of alcohol. Overall, decent appearance, aroma, and blend.

Ba Review #245
Served On: 12/12/2012
Glassware: Rolling Rock Flute Glass
Labeled ABV: 6.0%
Date/ Code: 12274WA68 (???)

This was from the 'Project 12' mixed pack I found at Evergreen Liquors in Frederick, MD ($11.99).

Look: Poured a crystal clear golden color. Carbonation bubbles stuck to the glass like soda. Some thin patches of lacing here and there. Head was a thin white fizzy coating of bubbles.

Smell: Sweet nose with a wet grass character. Some wet hay notes present. Also some grainy corn. Not that great.

Taste: First up was semi- sweet corn. Then a metallic taste. The finish was clean like water. Some dextrose sweetness did return in the finish.

Not a very good Pilsner in my opinion. I just love how AB-Inbev talks up their beers by naming some popular hops and malts - so I try the stuff and it's a complete disappointment. Textbook case of false advertising.

I poured this beer into my tumbler at 45 degrees. Leary after the last batch # I tried. The poured a little prettier with a nice golden color and fine bubbly head. The smell was a little hoppy but taste was not. Slight bitter finish not too bad decent lacing as well. All in all a pretty good refreshing beer. I would buy again.

A - Pours a clear golden color with a white head

S - pale grainy malt

T - bit of sweetness up front that slides into a grainy finish.

M - medium body with higher carbonation to it.

O - Not a great beer but better then bud. Worth trying especially if pils are your type.

A- Amber, with very small head. It petty much fizzed away.

S- Toasted notes. Small hints of toffee. Nice change for a Budweiser.

T- Toasted barley, with some kind of caramel or toffee undertone. Has a lingering finish, but is not bitter.

M- EASY DRINKING. It's a light to medium bodied beer.

Overall an easy drinking lager with a solid flavor. Not anything I'd hesitate to drink again!

Poured into a pint glass. Pours golden with a finger-length white head and lots of visible tiny bubbles. There is some lacing left in the glass during consumption. There are aromas of sweet malt and cracker with some grassy hops. There are sweet, bready malts with the grassy hop notes to balance them out. What I found in the nose is what you get in the glass, but I also detect a little citrus. The body is light to medium with medium carbonation. The finish is crisp and clean. The drinkability is high. This is a very good beer.

Pours a nice mild golden color with a one-finger head into my glass. Looks about right for the style too.

A touch of sweet malt with some crispness as well. Mild hop presence though predictable, is still tolerable.

Not as crisp as I was hoping and a bit flat. The sweet malt does have some buttery notes but otherwise, unimpressive.

Mouthfeel is the same unfortunately. The only saving grace is that the carbonation level is decent (the beer itself is "flat") and it's inoffensive.

I haven't tried the other batches in this 12 pack but I'm keeping my mind open for them. I'm hoping that we can finally see the talent of individual A-B brewmasters.

12 oz into a Pilsner flute.

A - Brilliantly clear deep gold with bubbly white head. Beautiful, but would like a more pillowy, long lasting head.

S - Distinct tea-like german hop aroma along with a bready sweetness.

T - Malty sweet, almost doughy, with a german hop flavor in the background. No discernable bitterness.

M - Very light body with high carbonation. Dry finish.

O - A very nice American lager. Give me a 12 pack, a nice day, a river and a canoe; good times will be had. We should've stuck with what they were making in 1898.

12-oz. bottle into a pint glass at my house on Dec. 4, 2012 (purchased the 12-pack for $12.99 at the 7/11 near Allied Gardens (San Diego) on Dec. 4, 2012. Honey golden (but almost amber) with about one finger of bubbly white head that dissipated at an above average rate. Hardly any retention.

Smelled sharp whiff of alcohol up front, giving way to pilsner malts. Got honey, corn, hay and even a bit of caramel.

Tasted a little more bland and watered down than I anticipated after the smell. Got light honey malts and that’s about it. Some light corn and grass.

Light body. Thin texture. Average-to-above average carbonation. Abrupt watery finish.

Started out so well, but fizzled once it hit my lips. That being said, it was better than a Bud Light of a Budweiser. Nice change of pace.
