A: The beer is hazy yellow in color and has a two finger high white head that slowly died down leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface. There is a moderate amount of carbonation.
S: There are aromas of bananas and bubble gum in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of banana, bubble gum and wheat along with some hints of clove.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate, rather smooth and has a moderate to high amount of carbonation.
D: The beer is very thirst quenching and is quite refreshing. This would definitely be a good beer to drink on a hot summer day.

enjoyed at hamburg airport, for a pretty fair price as these things go, i am certain i’ve had this several times before but only realising now that i’ve never rated it, a really tasty wheat beer, nice banana and orange flavours, cloves, spice, light bitterness on the finish, lovely medium body, high carbonation, super drinkable, quite dry actually, quite a nice beer

Good looking beer, thick head. Weak aroma and taste, "bland". Not a whole lot going on, very different from my ususal go-to Weizenbiers, not for me.

Lumpy, thick head. It recedes slowly leaving behind 3D lacing. Cloudy, light brown color.

Strong wheat nose. A bit earthy with an unusual pork-like note (similar to sausage).

Some vanilla with the wheat bite. Mild banana and cloves. Conventional with a richer body and lower than expected carbonation. Smoother but shorter finish/aftertaste.

500 ml. bottle in Mae Kasa, Thailand. Pours a cloudy, golden orange. Aroma of wheat, banana, citrus. Taste of wheat, malt, yeast, banana. Very pleasant for the style.

Joe’s Beerhouse draft on William’s 16th! He drank ginger ale, so ok. Smells like beer, looks cloudy with a persistent head. This isn’t a style I go for, but it takes me back to a place in some rural outlying area of New Brunswick in 1985 where an ancient couple dispensed weissbier and conversation.

Pours slightly hazy, translucent, maybe a bit less cloudy than the typical Weissbier, with a thick, tight, three-finger foamy head. Big banana and clove on the nose, typical Weissbier fare. Not much else. On the palate, the banana flavour is fresh rather than mushy, if that makes sense, which I like. It makes it taste a bit brighter. There is a mild and short-lived bit of clove and spice on the finish, then back to the creamy semi-sweetness. The mouthfeel is medium-weight and somewhat creamy, but still refreshing enough. Overall this one is a pretty good Weissbier, sort of middle of the road in terms of its German competitors.

Binding-Brauerei AG “ Schöfferhofer Hefeweizen”
,5L vom fass @ Zum Standestämtchen, Frankfurt, DE

Notes: Typical appearance for a Bavarian-style hefeweizen with a cloudy orange body and tall, fluffy head of white foam that lasts and leaves some impressive lacing behind as it goes. Slightly odd aroma, almost like buttery diacetly. Otherwise wheaty and sweetish with some mild banana and clove. The flavor follows but the buttery note is harder to detect. Moderate to median bitterness leaves it slightly drier than most. Medium to medium-light in body and zesty on the tongue.

500ml bottle. Underpowered and light, verging on thin. Deliberately so, I think, but not a great weizen as a consequence. Banana and cloves are there but barely.

Schofferhofer Hefeweizen is hazy and a golden copper shade of amber. The head is thick, mousse-like and lasting.
Holding up my glass, the first thing I smell is cloves in a way that's gentle, subtle, maybe even enticing. Beneath that, bread dough and the obligatory yeastiness. Fruit esters come through here, giving the aroma an enjoyable brightness. Part of that takes the form of ripe banana, briefly taking form of a pina colata smoothie. The finish is vaguely floral and perfumed.
Schofferhofer's mouthfeel is smooth and rounded in a way that promises a refreshing beverage. As with the nose, initial hit of clove lays the foundation for flavors of freshly baked bread and the accompanying smell of yeast. Banana couples with the flavor of banana smoothie and hints of bubblegum. Finish is briefly sweet before moving into a short, dry finish.
Easily a 7.75 out of 10. Schofferhofer may not be the most intense version of a hefeweizen I've ever had, but nor is it the least either. It's smooth and refreshing and hits almost all the notes this style of beer should hit. The only place where I think it might fall short is it doesn't have the gentle tartness I've found in other examples of the style and I've always thought that is part of what makes a hefeweizen such a great summer beer.
