Weird, musky aftertaste that makes me feel like somebody ashes a cigarillo in it. Not as refreshing as you'd think.

From Carrefour. In Bavaria hefe glass. Playing Escape the Past. Fairly standard hefeweizen. All you can expect in the style without anything standing out specially for the good or the bad

500ml bottle poured into a weizen glass.

Cloudy deep golden color, the pour builds up massive silky white head that withstands with excellent retention before slowly subsiding to an everlasting fluffy layer atop and leaving lots of sticky lacing patch and spot.

Sweet banana bread, bubblegum, clove, spice, floral, citrus, smooth wheat, biscuit, dough, husk, all the aromas you could expect from Hefe.

The taste is straightforward for Hefe with its fruity ester of banana and citrus as well as floral, and clove spice. Malt is there as a backbone providing notes of wheat grain, husk, bread, and biscuit. The end and aftertaste is lasting with some sweet malt yet sweet and sour fruity ester.

Medium body with creamy smooth mouthfeel by the wave of fluffy effervescence, the carbonation is medium with some crisp and good refreshing touch. Finish is dry.

This one is a standard Hefe you can easily find in the market. No offensive.

Refreshing and light. Ones enough at a time.

Poured a cloudy honey brown with nearly an inch thick, fluffy head and very impressive lacing. Spicy nose, with notes of banana and avocado; light bodied with clean finish. I found this to be a very light drinkable hefeweizen which I would serve to guests.

Cloudy golden color. Light head. Bitter. Another taste. Bitter. Skunky brew maybe? I don't expect a hefe to be bitter. Spicy and banana. Too many good hefes in Germany to drink this.
