This reddish-brown brew is crowned with a voluminous tan head that sits tight until closing time. Earthy, resinous hops float from a caramel and fruit base. Tastes of pine and resin followed by caramel, grain and a dim fruitiness. Lighter side of medium with a creamy middle and drier end. Finding this one going down super easy and wishing I had a backup warming up in the bullpen.

Huge letdown. Yet another NW brewer that can't make a proper hop profile. Unimaginative, and the hops on the front end almost come off tasting "mildewy". I've had numerous NW brews that share this trait. The back end is somewhat serviceable, which is why the score isn't lower. Overall, subpar. This may be the last NW brewer I try. Deschutes makes solid offerings, I will stick with them for NW brews.

A 650ml bomber with no visible BB date. Acquired a while back from the Brewdog webshop. It's a pretty big beer; hopped with Cascade, Centennial, Crystal and Simcoe.

A: Poured into a Duvel tulip. Bottle conditioned. A deep, hazy marmalade hue with fine sediment and medium carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding to a patchy surface layer. Slight lacing.

S: Aroma of potent hops with hints of pine resin, mild grapefruit, peel, citrus, grass/hay, subtle spice, sweet caramel malt, grain, earthy yeast and stewed hops. A whisper of alcohol in the background.

T: Tastes of intensely aromatic hops and sweet malt with a spicy, bitter finish. Notes of pine resin, weed, grapefruit, orange peel, citrus, grass/hay, spice, caramel malt, grain, earthy yeast and stewed hops. Slightly sweet, followed by a strident hop-driven bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with pleasant carbonation and good body. Somewhat astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of bitter aromatic hops, sweet caramel malt and earthy yeast.

O: A solid American IPA that goes down nicely. Looks great, while the aroma and flavour provide a vigorous dose of hops supported by a backbone of caramel malt. Good body. A tasty treat - the hops could be a little more vibrant but without a date it's hard to know how old the bottle is. At any rate, worth trying if you come across it.

A: Poured from a 650 ml bottle. Copper/amber with three fingers of off-white head.
S: Melon in a can with syrup, tropical fruit, citrus. I'm glad this IPA actually smells like an IPA, after the one I tried earlier.
T: I'm still waiting for something else. It's certainly not bad, but it's kind of... not enough. Grassy, but not as strongly so as one might expect. Lots of pale malts, perhaps too much. In general, the flavours just aren't bold enough for an IPA. It's not a bad beer, but it's not a good IPA.
F: Good.
O: Not quite.
