Bottle opened on 7.30.12

A - POurs a cloudy dark orange with a one inch cream-colored bubbly head.

S - Hoppy pine and oranges. Dare I say 3F influence?

T - Hoppy citrus first, then a strong english malt dominates the finish.

D - Good carbonation with a medium body. Bitter finish.

O - These guys are 3/3 on their bottled beers in my book. Keep it up.

Bottle courtesy of DaftCaskBC. Thanks man! From an old fav and a new fav, how could this one possibly be less than excelent??

Appearance. Pours caramel-gold with a half finger of thick, white head.

Smell. Toasty malts, citrus rinds, some pine and tropical fruits.

Taste. Toasted malts, sweet citrus fruits, pineapple, very mild bitterness.

Mouthfeel. Medium+ body, below medium carbonation.

Overall. Awesome pale!! Easy drinking and some great, refreshing flavours. (Yes flavours!!! This review is coming straight outta' the great white north, yo!)

My perception of this beers seems to be an outlier - I had it without knowing really anything about it other then a collab IPA. I loved it. Overwhelmed with the flavor, and aroma, of juicy fruit bubble gum. Light bodied, huge, bright sweet hops, it was pretty much perfect to me, in taste as well as uniqueness. Maybe I'd tire of it as an everyday beer, but for at least the one bomber, I was in heaven.

22oz bomber - collaboration with FFF

appearance: served in a hiliards can-pint, dull orange-copper body, light beige film

smell: toasted bready malts, orange peel

taste: a great Americanized english IPA - really an interesting hop profile - orange zest, lemon, grapefruit matched 1:1 with bready toasted malt notes. Three floyds influence here is obvious - the best of the bunch from Gigantic thus far

mouthfeel: light, refreshing - light bitterness

overall: solid

From BeerAdvocate magazine Issue #69 (October 2012):

An interesting collaboration with Three Floyds in that it’s not some over-hyped whale of a beer style. It’s simply a solid take on an English Pale Ale with an Americanized hoppy twist. Flavorful, balanced and easy to drink. We’re definitely looking forward to trying more beers and collaborations from Gigantic.

STYLE: English Pale Ale
ABV: 6.0%
AVAILABILITY: Limited

LOOK: Semi-hazy amber, thick white foam head

SMELL: Floral, tropical, grass

TASTE: Crisp carbonation, light-bodied, stone fruits, tropical, citrusy, floral, malty, honey, caramel, bready finish

22 oz bomber from Tradwr Joe in Salem Oregon. $4.59 LOve love love the Gigantic label art! Slightly cloudy deep golden ale with a nice small creamy thick white head. Aroma is slightly tropical but not much more than a piece of papaya.. Taste is fruity ..papaya, maybe mango but also toffee and earthy..strange but its all good. Mouth fel is rather good.soft carbonation and silky feel. An odd beer ..not really and EPA..but i liked it.

This beer surprised the shit outta me.

From the label: Gigantic + Three Floyds unleash this true weapon of mass distraction. Citrus, floral and tropical hoppyness lead to full malt flavour from proper english malt, kilned over welsh coal. Brewed for those of us that live and die in the timbers army and section 8.

Pours fuzzy apricot with a sheet of fine whites and soapy hedges. Smells of peat, malt, coal, grapfruit, orange zest, grass and some floral coatings. Nice nose. Tastes of fine malts with a smoked accent, some peaty character, a bit of hay, lots of biscuit, some bitterness and a hint of orange pith. Medium on full bodied with low carb and a slick over dry finish. I like this beer.

6% abv pale ale featuring English malts and kilned over Welsh coal... Clear, medium gold body, a few fingers of white foam atop... flowery and citrusy aromas followed by mild citrus and tropical fruits on the sip... Little bit o' pine resin tack on the tongue; moderate bitterness, subdued sweetness... Slim feel, modest carbonation, quick drinking... some tackiness lingers behind... Brewed again for Gigantic's fifth anniversary....
