I tried this during the tour at BlueJacket, served chilled in a snifter.

The color is a medium golden with white head with fine bead semi-hazed clarity. The smell is drenched in hops -galaxy I am told with a definite tropical fruit scent mixed with grass. The smell is great and the hops have definitely left their mark on the feel with moderately high bitterness for the style.

The taste is good with nice level of bitterness and hop flavor with a gentle malt flavor with light german yeast in the taste but finish is relatively dry with subtle toast/pilsner malt but mostly hops taste wise. I consider this a very good 'lawnmower' beer -a light golden brew with nice hop flavor and it is very drinkable if not exactly a true-to-style kolsch

Draft at the source.

Clear, golden body with a pure white head. Aroma is quite nice. Beautiful bouquet of hops and citrus, similar to a fresh IPA. Light in body and easy drinking. Juicy and delicious. I'll be going back to this one. The star of the show thus far.

Poured on tap into a snifter.

Real watery pale body on appearance. Washed out lemon yellow color and cloudy, with a faint creamed off white head.

Nose is ridiculously hop forward. Huge notes of pineapple and tropical juice. Some hints of spice herbal hop quality, and some minor wine aromatics, but the over pumped no traditional hops over run, and this smells more like Hawaiian fruit punch than beer, and a real ridiculous one at that.

Palate comes forward with hardly any malt or bready backbone. Mid palate and aftertaste awashes in tropical fruit and a real wet chalky body. Huge amounts of club soda carbonation, giving a real papery crispness, almost touching hot pepper, and exaggerating the minerality. Very light but ridiculously aggressive.

So where's the bakery malt and fruity ester wine like goodness on this? This comes off nothing more than an overly hopped up brew trying to mask a bunch of faults, and if there is a Kolsch in here somewhere I sure as heck can't find it. It's alright on a hop angle, but very misplaced and clashing.

Purchased in bottle at the brewery in DC for $10/750ml. Nice session beer. Definitely not a typical koelsch due to dry hopping but I liked the different take on a traditional style.

750 mL bottle. Clear yellow. Big white head. Smells tropical. Light grain. Taste is equally tropical. Really nice hop flavor. Masks everything else. Faint grain flavor behind it. Light body. Pretty crisp. Low bitterness. It's really hardly a Kolsch, but that's ok. I was looking for a little more bitterness and maltiness. Maybe I just can't taste it because of the dry-hopping.
