Bottle Date: within the past few months
Palate Contaminants: none
Appearance is either dark straw or light gold. Not much head at all.
Smell is tangy citrus, including of course kumquat. It really reminds me of Five Alive. Man, I hadn't thought of that drink in more than a decade.
Sour and salt hit right away. Then mellow malt and bitter citrus take over, with the salt mostly lingering. As much as kumquats, lime. (Maybe I should use this as a tequila chaser.) There's some butter present, too. It's a really interesting combination of things.
Feel is lightly fizzy with a thin body. That salt still lingers.
Maybe it's not what one should grab unless one is in the mood, but it is good nonetheless.

Let this warm a bit, it actually mellows. Very unique, very interesting beer, even for a gose. The kumquat pops up in the aroma and flavor, but blends much more naturally than most citrus beer. Like you might not guess fruit was added. It's tangy and light, but with a big satisfying finish. It's juicy and thirst-quenching, but not sweet. The salt doesn't stand out (as it shouldn't) but add a savory edge.

I tried this on tap at Bluejacket, served chilled in a snifter.
the color is apropos with golden color and light haze with almost no head a ring of white beads collects. The smell is great -very tart lemony with subtle mineral odor. The feel is great -lactic tanginess with light body and slight dry finish.
The flavor is so good -the best beer I tried perhaps at Bluejacket -citrus and sour tangy tropical fruit with lactic tart flavor -that sort of sweet/sour kumquat quality is there with tropical fruity taste and dry element of salt in the finish. This is wonderful, easy to drink and very true to style with some extra flavor in the mix from the citrus
