Notes:
"It goes without saying that if you’ve spent any time in and around the Philly area you undoubtedly have heard your fair share of Philly slang and local colloquialism. Some things just scream ‘Philly’ so bad, it almost hurts. Anyone familiar with our Head Brewer knows he’s got a fondness for the linguistic arts as well. Whether it be his loud, booming Jersey/Philly accent cutting across the room, or his late night drunken German, there’s no doubting his love for the sound of the spoken word of any native tongue. He’s also got a fondness for easy drinking, hoppy beers. What do you get when you put the together? J.A.W.N. – Juicy Ale With Nugget. This 5.2% ABV American Pale Ale is malty, yet crisp, and is loaded with dank citrus, as well as tropical and stone fruit flavor and aroma from the gratuitous use of Nugget and Zythos hops."

Draft at brewery. Dark golden with one finger fluffy head. Light malty aroma. Taste makes the malts and hops more apparent, and theres a light smoky presence in there as well. Nice feel, but i wouldnt consider it juicy.

There’s some citric/astringent/medicine like hops in there on the nose. Not totally sure about this beer yet. Ok, on the flavor it comes through as a slightly medicinal vaguely citrus punch. Not much bitterness but the bite lingers in the aftertaste. Needs more carbonation badly. I would not seek this out again. Not sure how this gets a higher rating.

(12 oz can, Julian pack date late-Jan 2019, purchased cold... poured into nonic)
L: mid-range amber liquid, speckled with sediment; frothy head on pour, settles into misty cap, no lace
S: smells like weed when poured; deep nose dig detects strong raisin(?) scent and some mashed lemon chunks... vaguely (bourbon) whiskey tone?; perfumy-musky hops linger, leach up through back of nostrils
T: bruised grass and flowers, dried lightly-sweetish yellow fruits, honeyish bread dough plump in its base... dense, earthy malt and hop redolent; lightly perfumy-spicy hops; lightly leathery
F: plush texture and flow: pillowy body, satiny resins... dry-ish on the back end with delicate (black-)pepper-spicy heat lighting up mouth and nose
O: vaguely British nuances?... not a bad drop for something this far out from its canning - a lot to offer for 5.2%... I'll make a point of trying a more fresh example, but this wasn't half bad

On tap at their brewhouse. Poured into a pint glass.
L---Clear medium amber color. Thick head that faded and left good lacing all the way down the pint glass.
S---Hoppy, with malts as well. Citrus & floral with a bit of caramel.
T---Follows the nose, citrus & caramel.
F---Crisp & clean. Juicy, as advertised.
O---A nice offering by a good brewery. I'll take another, please.

Not very juicy and quite sweet. I sampled this at a tasting event and suspected it might be old (but why would they bring old stock to a tasting event?) but the cans weren't dated. Hmm.

I remember trying this brewer at a State College bar a couple of years back but this is the first time I've seen it in MD. J.A.W.N. pours a translucent copper with notes of floral and medicinal hops and biscuit bread. I get the juicy part now that I have had a sip. With initial hop flavors strong, the bitterness really never kicks in and you are left with plenty of pine and citrus and medicine and an otherwise wet, refreshing, decidedly un-withering texture. Definitely worth a try and seems like it would excel for sessioning.

12oz can in a nonic pint glass.
Pours a copper color, not hazy but there are some "fuzzies" floating about. The pour yields a massive billow pillow of a white cap that has strong endurance and leaves heavy rings of lacing.
Very clean hop aroma dank, floral, citrus, spice, and caramel malt.
Orange citrus and caramelized malt flavors.
The feel is ... very strong. Enough hop bite to challenge the flavors to stand and be counted.
It could benefit from better balance of feel and flavor but I had no trouble getting it down.

Copper colored beer with a rapidly fading head. Taste is caramel malts and floral hops...too many hops for my liking ...This will be the first and last time I buy this.

L: Clear golden copper pour. Thin white head. Solid rim of lacing.
S: Sweet malts and citrusy hops. Resin.
T/F: Follows the nose. Light malts/grains. Mild caramel. Citrusy hops profile. Tangerine and grapefruit... mild tropicals. A little pine. bitter but balanced. Light bodied... easy drinking. Sweet citrus finish.
O: A solid IPA featuring Nugget hops. Good beer from a good PA brewer. Bonus points for including Philly slang in the name.

Poured into a half pint glass: color is hazy copper, head is off white with fine bubbles, head lingers and then leaves some lacing on the glass.
Smell is pleasant mix of malt, lightly toasted, hint of caramel, then moderate/strong hop aromas of earthy/piney/herbal nature.
Taste is is similar with light toasty malt, hint of caramel, earthy/herbal hops flavors with some citrus as well.
Mouthfeel is quite good with moderate carbonation and moderate lingering bitterness.
Overall a good beer with good malt and hop balance.
