Style: Tripel

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 9.30%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
“This is the greatest and best song (beer) in the world… Tribute.” Not only are we huge Tenacious D fans, but we’re also huge Belgian Tripel fans, so this is our “Tribute”. Brewed with a whole lot of Pilsen malt, Hallertau and Saaz hops, as well a pinch of coriander and bitter orange peel, Tribute has a soft malt backbone that’s paired with a fruity, citrusy flavor, and spicy, yet not over done phenolic character imparted from our use of an authentic Belgian yeast strain. At 9.3% ABV the alcohol is well hidden and very deceptive, and the dry finish will leave you eager for more."

Growler poured into a shaker pint.

Appearance
Golden yellow with 2 fingers of white head. Good clarity with low carbonation.

Nose
Lemon, honeydew, dried hay, potpourri and caramelized grain.

Taste
Lemon, honeydew and hints of apricot. Caramel drizzled grains with notes of tangy wheat and pale candy sugars. Nice yeast profile similar to Westmalle. Subtly spicy with some dried hay, potpourri and white pepper. Earthy bitterness lingers with some grassy hops.

Mouthfeel
Light-medium bodied, smooth, dry and slightly sticky.

Overall
This is a really nice Tripel. Excellent yeast strain. Very easy drinking and rather dangerous at 9.3%.

This beer came from 15 min away from my home. It is a very exceptional tasting beer. The smell is soft and fruity to me. the taste is very potent making it very enjoyable to drink. The high alcohol content would scare most casual drinkers but I feel everyone should try this great brew. The brewery will fill a growler on weekends and even show you around. There is a lot of flavor in this beer and I cant quite explain it. I can compare it to a Golden Monkey but it has more citrus taste to it. You must try this beer if your in the Croydon area.

Neshaminy Creek Brewing Co. "Tribute Tripel"
12 fl. oz. can, no production coding or freshness dating.
$2.99 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ

Notes via stream of consciousness: Interesting can. Very hazy golden body with an orange cast beneath a massive head of off-white - I let it get away from me a little, which is normally OK, but apparently this one has really good head retention to so I have to wait. The lacing that's forming as the head falls is quite nice, so I assume that it'll be like that throughout the glass. The aroma is a little bit yeasty, spicy like coriander seed, and just a touch banana-like over sweet grainy malt. Wow! The flavor is much fuller than the aroma suggests! It's loaded with fruit (apple, plum, tangerine, banana, mango) and sugary malt that somehow dries in the finish, perhaps due to the black pepper spiciness of the yeast, the coriander, and the hops. It's floral, spicy, mildly herbal, and just a touch grassy. A median bitterness helps to balance it as well - ahh, I just got it - as does some alcohol, which is part of the peppery spiciness I'm finding in the finish. Thankfully that's not overdone as I can sometimes find too much peppery spiciness, or alcohol, distracting. No, this is very well balanced and rounded. This could be a dangerous beer for me, I'd gladly drink two of these in a row, and then, when I'm not thinking properly, have another! Looking back the lacing was not as good as I'd hoped it would be but the head retention remained. Medium to medium-light in body with a bristling, finely effervescent carbonation. Certainly worth trying!

1/26...bomber. Pours bright gold with white foam touches on top. Strong belgian yeast nose. Citrus pokes through. Lemons. Taste is a light malt, peppery. Citrus, hoppy. A few in and the booziness is apparent. Leaves a bitter taste but chewy and sweet. Complex and flavorful.

very hazy rustic orange glow with golden high lights. About a finger of white head. Banana and hay on the nose.

Creamy and medium bodied. Very dry and tannic finish. Malt sweetness with a soft fruitiness up front, faint barnyard flavors of hay work nicely as undertones beneath it all. Very earthy dry finish to balance from the hops. Again super tannic finish, Really shows how a tripel can be sweet and dry at the same time rather then one or another. Reminds me of a cleaner version of weyerbachers merry monks with a dryer finish. Not too complex but with classic tripel flavors that go well together. banana and clove, fruit, and earth.
