Dark brown appearance with a light brown head, low retention, minor lacing. Semi sweet chocolate notes, faint coffee and peanut butter. Medium body and carbonation.

I got a 6pck of cans of this beer from my local Kroger store. It poured an opaque dark with ecru head that is leaving some lace. The scent had cocoa and peanut butter notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with light semi sweet milk chocolate malt base with peanut butter presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Pours dark. Light foam. Nutty aroma. Chocolate and peanut butter body. Smooth finish. Sweet but not too sweet. Slightly smokey. A really good porter.

12 FL. Oz. can
Served in a snifter

This beer pours a mahogany color with garnet highlights. It is topped with an inch of tan head that leaves decent lacing.

It has a pretty good chocolate and peanut butter aroma.

Standard roasted malt followed by a hint of coffee. Then I get some chocolate with a little peanut butter. Light, lingering chocolate finish.

Light bodied for a stout with an almost watery mouthfeel

It's almost like they used spent grain and adjuncts to make this beer. Very light on flavor and feel.

Dark brown with a red / purple hue. Robust tan head with good retention and lacing. Aroma is chocolate and peanut butter and somewhat off-putting. Taste follows. I love chocolate and peanut butter, but not in my beer. It doesn't taste bad per se, but it also doesn't taste like beer to me. Glad I tried it, but no burning desire to have it again.

From the bottom of the can: "2022104 13:31PM"

Appearance: The body appears very dark brown to the point of being black except where some light comes through the glass which shows off a dark brown hue with a slight appearance of dark garnet. The head is medium-sized, fluffy, and light tan-cream colored. It has pretty good head retention and has some lacing.

Aroma: It smells like peanut butter candy. It is a pretty nice aroma but it smells the way peanut butter flavoring smells rather than actual peanuts or peanut butter.

Taste: Up front there is some peanut butter flavor with a bit of a metallic note and a bit of a tartness which is odd. It has almost a bit of a concord grape flavor. The flavors don't develop much across the palate but there is a bit of a bitter roasted note on the finish.

Mouthfeel: It feels on the lighter side of medium bodied and a touch thin. Carbonation feels a bit high. There is a mild bitter note in the finish.

Overall: The beer is a bit off as a whole. The aroma smells like peanut butter flavoring but that aroma is good enough if you like the smell of peanut butter candy. It starts to fall apart when it comes to the flavor though, because the beer has odd complementary flavors that don't fit well with the peanut butter flavor. The can states that this is a "CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER PORTER ALE WITH NATURAL FLAVORS ADDED" which is exactly how it comes across when it comes to the peanut butter. The chocolate flavor and aroma are missing entirely. The mouthfeel also feels thin and low on the spectrum for the body of a Porter. The can states that this is "full-bodied" which it is not. As a whole it is drinkable but it isn't something I would buy again or readily recommend. If you are craving a peanut butter beer it could scratch the itch a bit but it leaves you wanting for more flavor, aroma, and body.

Can. This one is 6% ABV for Beer52 [UK].
Deep chestnut colour with a medium dense, creamy coloured head.
Peanut and milk chocolate when smelt and tastes the same.
Under carbonated. Medium body.
Reasonably pleasant.
