Our hop forward grapefruit pale ale is brewed and dry hopped with Citra hops. Tropical and citrus notes abound from the hops along with some tart and juicy grapefruit flavors.

Chill hazed bronze. Off white head. Good lacing for small amount of foam. Smells of caramel malts, non descript fruit punch, sweet grapefruit. Tastes like dry fruity pebbles. White bread. Feel is full bodied. Balanced bitterness. Creamy. I would say fruit punch is the biggest aspect of this I wouldn’t call it grapefruit. A very good pale ale

From a 12 oz. bottle...

Pours a hazy light copper color with a creamy white head which laced quite nicely.

Nose is citrus heavy...grapefruit and orange peel with a leafy hop aroma behind it.

Flavor is the aforementioned citrus up front, with the fresh hop flavor right on its heels. There’s a mild sweetness in the background, but it’s not caramel or biscuit malt like. Agave is the only thing that comes to mind.

Moderate carbonation and a lighter body place it high on my drinkability scale. It sticks to the tongue only slightly, pretty clean finish overall considering the citrus.

Poured into a narrow pint glass: color is gold, head is off white with fine to small bubbles, head presents at least 1 inch deep and then lingers well, some lacing but a good lingering solid top.

Smell is juicy, maybe aged grapefruit juice blended with hop aromatics is a good way to described; just an underlying sweetness that is juicy with mild malt sweetness; hops are floral and citrus, but in the end too much juice up front.

Taste is thin and dry with a light juicy flavor. I get the grapefruit juice but it seems to have thinned out the flavor of the base malt and hops. Malt is light biscuit, hops are floral and light citrus rind. The

Mouthfeel is moderate, then some bitterness and light sweetness.

Overall a bit thin in flavor and to dry on the finish, seems to blend ipa/pale ale styles and the grapefruit juice is just a bit overdone.

12 oz. bottle poured into a tulip glass.

L---Slightly hazy, golden color. Nice head faded slowly and left ok lacing.

S---Grapefruit, obviously. Other citrus (orange/lemon). A bit a maltiness is present as well.

T---Ruby red grapefruit is dominant. There's also some orange in there. There is a graininess in there also.

F---Light. Feels a bit bubbly even.

O---An ok beer. Not something I'll seek out, but I'd take a free one. Evil Genius tends to get me excited to try their stuff, but ultimately usually lets me down.

Dark yellow in color with a murky, hazy appearance. Poured with a moderate, soapy, bright white foam with medium low retention. Grapefruit rind and light bubble gum notes with a hint of lemon zest and malt. Medium bodied with medium light carbonation. Light grapefruit juice flavors with light spiciness and medium malt flavors. Medium light bitterness. Finished pretty cleanly with light malt and mild, sweet grapefruit flavors. Very easy drinking and a well-balanced pale ale. However, this generally lacked character. The body and feel were a bit light with no creamy or smooth feel. Flavors were pretty one dimensional and hop character was light. Basically a malty pale ale with added grapefruit flavors.

Maybe I'm just a bit too much white trash.I compare anything claiming to be grapefruit against Shiner Bock Ruby Redbird. Tasting on tap at BJ'S Brewhouse at the bartenders recommendation after I commented on the lack of grapefruit flavor in the Ballast Point Sculpin Grapefruit IPA. Aroma is certainly grapefruit and taste starts out that way though it fades fast. As another reviewer pointed out this is a pale ale not an IPA so none of that wonderful bitterness but still a solid summer brew I would serve at a BBQ or pool party.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Nearly clear golden amber pour. 1.5 fingers of white head. Solid ring of lacing.

S: As promised... grapefruit/citrus. Light grains.

T/F: Light grains give it a solid backbone. The hop profile is largely citrus.. strong grapefruit notes... orange rind, coriander, and a bit floral. Modest bitterness. The finish is sticky citrus.

O: Not a bad grapefruit pale. A bit simple but refreshing for a hot day. Pretty crushable at 6%.

6/17/17...pours clear gold, very still, no foam. Strong grapefruit nose. Pale fruity malt taste. Modest grapefruit, but not fully integrated. Creamy mouthfeel, light bodied. Grapefruit rind eventually drifts in. So so.
