Appearance is a golden hue with visible carbonation. Smell is very earthy. Taste is elf poop. Mouth is elf diaper.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle with a really smudged stamped date so I don't know its bottling or expiration date. Sampled on August 26, 2016.
Light to medium amber pour with am lingering white head.
The aroma feels more like a malt bomb - which could speak to how old it is. Any IPA hops I pick up are the resin and maybe floral kind. Otherwise mainly melted caramel.
Medium body.
As for the taste, the emphasis is on the melted malts and sweetness but they are offset by a kind of cardboard, musky cellar flavor. Mild and sweeter finish. Hopheads, this is not the IPA for you.

Cloudy, dirty gold color....borderline amber. Smallish head but it sticks around, albeit in a thin layer of small bubbles. Only a couple of streaks for lace.
Dry and weedy aroma with a good dollop of earthiness thrown in.
This beer starts smooth and ends harshly but not from an overabundance of hops. It simply becomes more and more earthy until the swallow where one gets a strong raw hop bite. The aftertaste isn't as long as one might expect. Full bodied but with an elevated bubble level. Although the bottle says American IPA, I think it comes closer to its English roots because of the malt profile.
