12oz. bottle poured into a porter glass

A- dark brown, barely translucent on the edges. Tan head which leaves a bit of lacing.

S- dark malt and a heavy dose of oxidation.

T- No pumpkin, maybe a hint of cocoa, but a huge metallic oxidized note that ruins anything pleasant.

M- Thin, and dry due to the metallic nature.

O- So far, every evil genius beer has this huge unpleasant oxidized metallic thing going on, and I'm not wasting any more money on this brewery. Avoid.

Pours a blackish color with a white lace. Decent clarity for a brew of pumpkin, spices, and roasted malt base. Aroma of gourd enveloped with a thin wisp of roasted malts. Mainly smells like vegetables, eh. Solid two months before Halloween, but Trick or Treat!! No discernible bottle date, it seems smudged on purpose hopefully not 2 years old or something. Pumpkin is always best fresh in beer.

The taste is sour pumpkin, roasted malts and a bit of cocoa in the finish. Kind of watery. Body is good, its solidly made beer, but the vegetable sour thing that happened with the pumpkin is unfortunate and just didn't work with the roasted base. Left me wanting more as a pumpkin chocolate stout, as good as that may sound. Very confused muddled beer, but I like what these guys are doing in some of the others I've had the opportunity to try. It would be better without any pumpkin in it, but still seems lacking. I like a lot of these products but not this one. Its more of a trick than a treat.

I'm not a big pumpkin beer lover but I got this at my local distributor in the bargain bin and couldn't pass up the amazing deall!
Look - Deep brown in color.
Smell - slight chocolate, malty, spices, heavy on the cloves.
Taste - slightly bland, I was expecting more robust for a Porter, not much chocolate and a bit more spices than I expected, no pumpkin at all, just the spices that you'd fink in a pumpkin pie.
Feel - A little on the thin side with slightly medium carbonation.
Overall - an average beer; a bit lacking on the chocolate side. No real pumpkin flavor as advertised though. More spices than I expected. Flavors come through at the beginning but disappear on the back side.
Not what I was expecting from a chocolate porter, I was hoping for more of a thick, robust flavor.
An average Fall pumpkin porter. I'm glad I paid less than half the original price.

Pours a very dark brown color with 2 fingers of beige head. Glorious lacing.

Smell is grainy, light coffee and chocolate notes, not much going on.

Taste is a bit odd. Mild roasted character, some chocolate, and some off putting metallic, acidic bitterness...i told myself i would never drain pour a beer but this is coming close.

Light body, light carbonation, just can't get over that aftertaste of rusty oxidized chain link fence.

Skip it.

Brown and clear with a very small amount of head and no visible lacing.

Smell is dominated by chocolate and sweet malt.

Taste is a mix of bitterness, malt, unknown spice, and a metallic finish.

Mouthful is thin and light with medium-low carbonation. Finish lingers.

This sounded like a great beer but was a big disappointment. The strongest points were the look and smell. The taste was bad - no discernable chocolate or pumpkin and a lasting metallic taste. Pass this one by.

Pours a dark brown, almost black color with a thin creamy tan head that remains throughout the beer.

The scent is of roasted malt and dark chocolate notes.

The taste is of roasted malt, burnt coffee, dark chocolate, together is makes the flavor quite sour.

Full body, smooth and kind of sticky feel, moderate carbonation.

I didn't really enjoy this one too much, it became more and more sour as the beer went on.

Pours a dark brown with a tan hue on the edges. More than a finger of head that dissipates quickly but leaves some nice sticky lacing on the glass. The nose is subtly roasty. The taste is rather thin and bland. This offering ends on a sour note that is not terribly pleasant.

While this offering is advertised as a beer with pumpkin and cocoa, there is no hint of pumpkin or cocoa here.
