I usually don't like blonde ales but this one is an exemption. It has a nice head that fades away quick. Great color, easy to drink, and crisp taste

8/3..brewery draft. Pours pale gold - foamy white top. Light bready grain nose. Crisp grain filled taste, cereals, very midwestern. Smooth malt bill. Very clean finish. Nicely constructed in its flavorful simplicity.

One of my great pleasures in recent memory is an at-least once a year visit to Madison, Wisconsin. It was during one of these forays that I stopped in at Riley's Wines of the World in furtherance of The CANQuest (tm). They are always acCANmodating to me & I look forward to my next visit.

From the CAN: "Whether it is summer time and living is easy or you find yourself longing for warmer days; our Boathouse Blonde is sure to help you drift away. This unfiltered Blonde Ale is every bit as sessionable as any craft enthusiast would expect. This solid blend of 2 Row, Vienna and Munich malts followed by minimal hopping delivers the easy drinkability we long for in any season. "; "Local Crew [-] Local Brew".

"Unfiltered" for me usually means an inverted Glug, but following its plaintive Crack!, I just could not bring myself to do it. Plus, it kind of represents a challenge to me to see if I CAN CANduct a Glug that leaves the lees behind for a drinker that wants clarity in their beer. An in-glass swirl raised a finger of fizzy, French Vanilla-colored head with decent retention. As to clarity - Success! Yeah, there was a mild haze, but since the color was Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 -5), I thought that I would bring in the Gelt Gang of Mammon, Midas & Croesus to get their opinion. They seemed to dig it and they usually want clarity in their gold, so I feel golden by extension, dig? Nose was really light, kind of biscuity with a light honey sweetness, almost like a lager. Wild. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was both biscuity and grassy, making me think more of a Czech Pils than an American Blonde, but either way, it was groovy. Finish was dry and refreshing, which, when coupled with a low ABV, makes it a great cooler CANdidate, especially down at the lake.

Overall a very nice beer! Great foamy head that goes away fairly quickly. Light smells and flavors - a little yeast and white fruit w/ some flowers. Citrus mixed in as well. Thin mouth feel that doesn't linger. Very easy drinker.
