look: 3.5 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.25 | overall: 3.5
It’s a German Hefeweizen. 330ml at 7%. Quite ambitious from a Belgian brewery to dip its toes into a well known and widely appreciated German style.
Poured into a teku, leaving a 2 inches white head, color is cloudy yellow...
Smells citrus, lemon...
Taste follow the nose (big smile). Some hints of banana, and a clovey finish which is distinct of many Belgian beers.
Overall : it’s a good beer, but nowhere as exceptional as the German Hefeweizen we drink preferably during spring and summer after a rough day. I had to give it a try

Light yellow, but very hazy, with a rich fluffy white head with nice retention.
Tons of clove in the smell, creamy wheat, some green banana, apple and pear, lemon rind.
Sweet and bubblegummy up front, sweet banana chips, red apple, ripe pear (both with a bit of acidity too). Malts are sweet too, wheaty, smothered with honey, a bit too much, almost syrupy. Gets breadier, lots of clove, and a bigger (a bit spicy/leafy too) hop bitterness than usual in the finish cuts of the unwanted sweetness.
Medium bodied, rather fizzy. Aftertaste with clove, some banana chips, a bit of lingering sugars and some mild hops.
Certainly not traditional, from appearance to taste. Keeps some nice weizen notes (the yeast mostly), adds some nice hops, flumps it with the malts (overly sweet). It's an interesting approach on the style, but one that i wouldn't really care to revisit too soon.
