I WISH this place was closer to me. But I will certainly be making regular pilgrimages here. It's primarily a wine shop and that's how they survive and make their money. If I understand the owner right, they don't really make money on the beer, but just do it out of passion. And they are passionate! Their selection is apparently always changing, and they seem to buy only one case of a time of a particular beer. Some are shipped, but the guys there actually go directly to little breweries in Franken and Bavaria and pick up single cases to sell at their shop. Many of the beers available here you WILL NOT FIND ANYWHERE ELSE in Berlin. Not a huge selection. Maybe 20-30 different beers. But they really seem to specialize in German IPA's, which to me is incredible! I love them for that! And you can get a small IPA (33cl) for a little as 2 Euros, which I find to be quite okay. The 50cl bottles didn't seem to exceed 5 Euros. I think the prices are quite fair. The owner is very nice and friendly and let you know all the details about every beer they have. I wouldn't go there and expect to find a specific beer, but you should go there with an open mind and you will find new and interesting brews they have curated. This shop is a wonderful compliment to Ambrosetti. These are my two favorite shops in Berlin.

I went to Bier Berlin today hoping to find me some non-traditional german beers. I was lucky since a lot of boxes just arrived and Rainer was still unpacking them. Half of the shop is filled with wine, the other half with beer. If you like both, this is a great pace for you. I went there to buy some beers and in the end stayed 3 hours sharing some great german micro-brews and exchanging stories. It was great fun and Rainer surely knows his beers. A nice worldly selection and I was happy to find an Icelandic porter. If you are looking for the general German beers you will be dissapointed. There are some, but it's mainly specialties. Will surely visit this place again! Hope to meet you at Borefts Rainer!

This place is, in my opinion, the best beer shop in Germany. It doesn't have the largest selection but does have a very well curated selection, with careful attention paid to styles that are difficult or impossible to find elsewhere, including IPAs and stouts.

For people visiting Germany from out of the country it might be better off to hit one of the other shops listed here that has a wide selection of German brews, but if you are an expat looking to get your fix of real beer, you have to check this place out.

They also have awesome tastings every once in a while.
