Tap

Pours opaque black, light tan head is fine and retains pretty much forever.

Smells of licorice, dark chocolate, roast and mesquite.

Tastes of toast, mesquite, and dark chocolate. Coffee bitterness in the finish.

Medium body with tingling carbonation throughout.

A nice smokey porter with good potent flavors. Beautiful pour. Body could stand to have a bit more to it. Still worth trying.

Head fades quickly leaving a still surface, dark brown with some slight auburn halo at the edge of the glass. Smell is baking chocolate, roasted malt, a little vanilla, a woody note. Taste follows with a chicory and charcoal element. Not thick but for the style, pleasantly full. Really nice American Porter.

Pours a dark brown with a khaki colored head. Left plenty of lace on the glass. Aroma of charred malts and perhaps vanilla. In the taste, a good black patent malt flavor, some dry cocoa and vanilla as well. Not hop forward but fairly bitter and roasted. The flavors are as brilliant as they are simple. Medium bodied feel and decently smooth. Overall, this was a good brew to try. Thanks to Z-man and Sir Robin for the bottle.

22 oz bomber courtesy of tommyguz pours a fairly viscous dark brown color with an ample cap of creamy tan head. Nice retention and lace. Looks pretty.

Nose is a great mix of chocolate and de-bittered roast. QUite nice, if a bit one-dimensional.

Taste is well balanced between unsweetened cocoa and leafy hops. The roast comes in as it warms and gives it more of a charcoal presence. Mouthfeel isnt exactly full, but for a standard porter it is full enough. Goes down really fast, not a whole lot of negative things I can say about this one. Black Bear is a great local option, I would be pumped to have this on a regular basis.
