Arrives a dark amber color with a small white head, just a ring, really.
Smell is sweet, smoky, malty, and so good.
Taste is sweet, smoky, malty, saltines (briefly) and some spices. Great balance. In my head I envision a spiced porter with a slow smoked pork butt drug through it. Fantastic.
Medium-full body, tightly effervesced. A hint of drying middle to finish. Slightly warming as well. Damned good.

Deep brown, light khaki head with good lacing.

Mild toffee, milk chocolate, sweet spice.

Sweet toffee to start, light coffee and chocolate, builds into a moderate pepper spice. Really nice balance of sweet, chocolate, spice heat. Lasting pepper heat from the aji charapita peppers used.

Medium body, good carbonation, semi dry finish and the heat is lovely from the pepper.

Really solid spiced beer. Somewhat resembling a porter, this leans more towards a spice beer as the pepper, annato, and cacao overwhelm the porter characteristics.

Stock porter. Right on the money. Medium roasted coffee character and chocolate up front. Balanced. Medium heat with the chaparita. Warming all the way to my ears. Not overly spicy but a low 'burn'. Very intersting and quite drinkable, especially if you enjoy spicy food/drink.

Have had this multiple times on tap at Darwin's

Pours a deep garnet with burnt sienna tones. Short lived white head. The complexity of the aromas and flavors are beyond description. I'm getting notes of wildflower honey, sweet apples, biscuit, medium toast malts, bell pepper, and hot peppers! This is insane. The flavor profile is all over the place, yet it functions so well as one unit. There is the lightest hint of cocoa amongst the craziness. Sweet and spicy, the spices really cut through the palate in the finish, leaving a lasting flavor that will enhance your favorite meat dish off the menu. I have had this beer with pork tacos, the burger, and even the mussel ceviche. It works the best with the pork tacos though. Absolutely delicious. I wish they would bottle this.
