Place achieves the look they're going for, that's for sure. Food is definitely worth trying but with location, farm to table approach etc. it's definitely pricey.
Whiskey selection is fantastic. Not cheap, but a great place to try some rare/expensive whiskeys you either can't find on the shelf anymore or wouldn't want to pay full bottle price for.
Service leaves something to be desired, especially if it's busy. I've been here a handful of times after a concert at a small venue like Jefferson or larger nTellos - if there is a crowd, service is slow and not very pleasant. I get the stress of people ordering the specialty cocktails, but I just want a small pour of scotch from a bottle right there - please don't make me feel like I'm being a pain in the ass.

The conceit here is that this restaurant serves old-timey VA food. Atmosphere is barn-like wood. The food is solid, very reasonable and there is a definite nod to local beers. They carry both Blue Mountain and Devil's Backbone flagship beers (Full Nelson and 8 Point IPA respectively) as well as a Blue Mountain seasonal (Summer Haze as of a couple of weeks ago).
The crowd vibe is rural hipster as the staff looks like it was airlifted from an Avett Brothers video shoot but service has been very pleasant. A solid addition to the Downtown Mall.
