This exceptionally discerning ryewine blend uses hand-selected bourbon and rye barrels from Binny's Beverage Depot to burnish the luminous malt complexities formed by a two-year stay in that premium oak. Inviting yet balanced sweetness is counterweighted by aromatic oak and assertive rye, with ambrosial notes of maple and vanilla evoked at every turn.

Aged in Sazerac Rye, Weller, and Stagg bourbon barrels

Thanks to Luscious_Malfoy for this delectable gem.
Deep brown, with a khaki to mocha colored head that pumps up a solid 2 inches of foam before settling down to a most diminutive ring. No lacing.
Aromas of gently booze kissed raisins, figs, and dates start things off. This is downright decadent in its deep malt notes. After the initial pop of dark fruits, the barrels kick into gear. Some smooth, firm whiskey char and a bit of, almost peppery, rye.
Wow, she's a thick one. An almost syrupy start to a boozy flambé of raisins and dates. The roots delve down into a profound melange of meaty fruits and complex barrel notes. Hints of earthy oak and char, some wood notes that are somewhere between new oak and apple. Really hard to nail down in the most reassuring quest. And I am highly motivated to keep seeking.
Syrupy to chewy. Warm with a mildly sweet, wet whiskey barrel finish.

A - Pours a dark amber with a fizzy off white head. The head fades extremely fast leaving virtually no lacing.

S - Aroma is molasses, bourbon soaked raisins, oak and dark chocolate.

T - The taste is brown sugar, molasses, toffee, plums, raisins, vanilla, rye spiciness and a nice bourbon warmth in the finish.

M - Full body with low carbonation. Syrupy mouthfeel with a nice slick finish.

O - Incredible BBA barleywine.

Yields a dark brown color with a smaller, noisy and immediately disappearing head atop.

Aromas on this are defined by charred oak, bakers chocolate and toasty spices among honey accompanied toffee.

Drinks well balanced, showcasing a heavy bodied beer, inheriting a lower, subtle carbonation, which opens up the palate to the numerous facetts of the beer.

Tastes of burned cotton candy among rustic, molasses and licorice accompanied toffee, together with lots of spicy, warming oak. Has an even sweeter, boozy mid palate, which never turns remotely too hot but instead offers a great interaction between almost resinous appearing oak and caramel brushed spices, dipped into luscious toffee. Finishes dry, yet soft, due to its silk mouthfeel with dried, alcohol soaked plums and raisins, smoothed by prevailing caramel and its matured oak qualities.

A sweet and complex winter warmer indeed with just the right amount of heat to it, to let the beer‘s complexity slowly unfold onto the palate. Velvet, bold and sweet, with lots of oak and a nice combinated dryness, created by the alcohol and the matured hops in this, this is a very enjoyable beer.

Thanks to whomever sent me a couple, or few, of these, as I’m down to my last 12 oz. can. And dreading it vanishing. Because. Yeah.

The pour is the kind of deep red Richard Westall might have grown flowery about. Smells like rye, booze, bourbon, a jab to the nose of alcohol, & molasses. Right up my tube.

VSOR Select ALMOST has enough rye & bourbon in it. ALMOST. So close. I can feel the veins in my eyes filling with spicy rye as it courses into my tummy & promises late-night heartburn. The bourbon is heavy, leaden feet stamping not only my palate but what brain cells remain me, Way behind these two behemoths are molasses, brown sugar, vanilla, with alcohol that enervates everything it touches. Hell, my couch is probably drunk. This should definitely come in gallons.

Come on, Revolution. Where to go from here? This is close to pinnacle beer right here, like peak Asia Carerra. Borderline perfect.
