Pours a pumpkin color with average head and hardly any lacing to speak of. Aromas of some hops and sweet, cool malts are the players here. Taste is definitely reminiscent of an English IPA with malt playing a big role in this. Light flavors overall and not much of a finish. Also, a slightly off flavor during the drinking process

Poured from the bottle into a Spiegelau IPA glass. A bit of noticeable trub in the bottom of the bottle.

What the hell is this? Slow pour, and this thing expands like a helium ballon. Double fistfull of khaki white head, with big staying power and retention that I will give it would be fine on any other IPA so long as wasn't so out of control. Even a nice dollop of island puck in the center makes a mark. But seriously… this is ridiculous. How this didn't gush out of the bottle when I opened it I have no idea. Body color otherwise, is a very nice clear appearance nearly crystal and bright bronze orange. Lots of fine carbonation from the bottom. Sorry you make a beer undrinakble physically from the start with me you lose a lot of points.

After waiting for some time so that the swiss cheese suds break down so that I can stick my nose in this thing, a resemblance of IPA makes its presence. Floral and earthy hops, fairly large but also has a bit of a medicinal flavor coming off on the aroma. Quite perfume like smelling, and a slight caramel sweetness manages to bring it down but only slightly.

Palate is filled with very tight carbonation, in an almost seltzery body. Sweet malt and almost honey like in taste. Quite a big of gaseous aftertaste, no surprise there, but does manage some semblance of hop bitterness. Honeyed malt and hops towards earth and florals, but way too much carbon dioxide flavor taste and mouthfeel.

There's nothing more to say here.

No sign of a bottle on or best by date on bottle. Look is orange and 1/2 a finger head. Smell is non-existent for most part but a slight swimming pool smell to it. Taste is slight medicinal bitter and a touch of pine or menthol. Really nothing much going on here at all in the taste. I hate to be harsh but this is such a useless craft beer. Its drinkable but it really offers nothing enjoying at all.

I am continuing to winnow down my Bottle Backlog here at Chez Woody, this time by concentrating on beers from Tall Tales B.C.

From the bottle: "A Medium bodied India Pale Ale with a copper orange color and a nice white head. The aroma is that of intense citrus and caramel malts. The flavor starts with the citrus bitterness accompanied by the extra sweet caramel malts but the bitterness does not linger. Very enjoyable finish."

As I Pop!ped the cap, I could not help but think that the above verbiage does not really dovetail with an English India Pale Ale, but mine is not to wonder why. Mine was also a moderately heavy-handed pout which created just under two fingers of dense, rocky, tawny head with very good retention. Color was solidly Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9) with NE-quality clarity & loads of CO2 bubbles in evidence. Nose had a very pine-y, minty smell and I continued to question its being an English IPA. Mouthfeel was medium, but the carbonation gave it a scrubbing sensation as I rolled it over my tongue. The taste was far too oriented towards an American IPA (AIPA) in that it was initially as resinous as a pine tree, slowly building to a lemony citrus flavor. Decent for an AIPA, poor for an EIPA. Finish was bitter with a rind-like citrusiness ending in an eventual dryness. Decent for one style, poor for another.
