Served on-tap at the brewery. Pours reddish-amber, some haze, frothy off-white head leaves some lacing on the glass. Aromas are malty, biscuity, and caramely. Tastes are similar to aroma with huge malt notes of caramel, biscuit, bready malt, nice hop balance appropriate for the style. I like the idea of the higher ABV giving it some boldness. Nice offering from a new brewery!

poured by bartender into pint glass.

reviewed from notes taken on 6/12/12.

Appearance: medium amber bodied beer with a small white head.

Smell: smells like most malt forward amber ales. Carmel and biscuit notes. Not much in the hops department.

Taste: Very similiar to the nose. Its a malt forward amber ale. A touch of grainy, bready, and caramel sweetness. Not much hops here.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer that has moderate carbonation. Drinks lower than it 7.3%. Easy to drink and smooth.

Overall: I was told at the brewery that this beer was brewed from the lite beer drinkers who dont like hoppy or dark beers. It nothing crazy, but still a solid beer. I have always enjoyed my malt forward red ales, so I dig this brew.

Pours an amber color with a foamy white head. Smells of malt and carmel. Taste is the same. Mouthfeel is light and refreshing. Overall, I really couldn't tell the bitchslaps apart. This one is carmel flavored, the other vanilla.
